you grumbled as you walked down the stairs, praying that it wasn't any of your family members from your mother's side. your father's phone was blowing up with many notifications after your grandma's funeral, but you had refused to see anyone at the moment. not when you were a mess.

you peeked around the corner, expecting to see your family members from your mother's side who knew about your court case with your mother.

except it wasn't any of your family members from your mother's side.

it was wendy, heidi, and bebe.

you were surprised to see the curly blonde standing amongst the small crowd in the living room. after the new information you found out? you wouldn't have shown your face to bebe.

the said curly blonde noticed your gaze and a soft pink color dusted her cheeks; making her face appear flushed. you cracked a small smile at her flustered reaction upon seeing you.

"[y/n]!" heidi beamed when you emerged from the corner, "we were worried that you weren't feeling well!" she rushed up to hug you. you accepted the hug and let yourself be pampered by the brunette; enjoying the comfortable yet suffocating bear hug.

you had really needed that hug anyways.

"I'll let you girls catch up," your father smiled, "let me know if you kids need any help, 'kay?"

"thank you, mr. [l/n]." wendy politely bowed her head. you sweat dropped when you noticed your father raise his brow at the ravenette. frick. you totally forgot that you had used her as an excuse when you were at kyle's house.

your heart beat quickened at the thought of kyle. wendy noticed your troubled expression, "is everything okay, [y/n]?" screw wendy and her observant eyes.

you grinned and patted heidi on the arm, making her release you from the tightening hug. "i'm fine, just getting suffocated by heidi in a hug." heidi giggled shyly and rubbed her neck, "sorry! it's just that we haven't seen each other for so long!" she pouted.

you suddenly felt bad for wishing to not cross paths with the brunette. your stomach began to churn with guilt. were you starting to feel resentment towards your own friends?

your own friends who were happy to see you, while you were wishing and praying to not ever see them again for the rest of the week. gosh, this whole situation was really taking a toll on you.
