you laid your head against the window with no emotions written on your face. the ride was bumpy and you kept bumping your forehead on the window- making you seem less non chalant and mysterious.

you tightly clutched on the paper in your hands, trying to ignore the hushed conversation of liane and your father in the front seat. you tried to ignore the loud smacking and chewing coming from eric's mouth and the loud volume of his ipad, phone, whatever the fuck it's called.

everything was irritating you.

last night you had gotten discharged and was required to be taken care of carefully until your next check up but you could care less about that.

you were currently on the way to your grandma's funeral. you didn't know who would show up but all you were worrying about was your speech.

as the granddaughter, of course you had to speak. but you weren't ready for it.

surprisingly eric was going to speak too. he barely even spoke to her so why was IT out of all people, having a speech?

you huffed, leaning against the seatbelt. you closed your eyes, trying to distract yourself from your surrounding noises.

"[y/n]?" your head perked up at the mention of your name.

"hm?"

"have you finished your speech? we're going up right after they finish the prayer."

"..mhm"

after what felt like an eternity, the car came to a stop. you internally groaned to yourself at the sight of the many cars parked. having an extroverted family member meant that the place would be packed.

you stepped out the car, holding on the door for eric. you let out a shaky sigh as people welcomed your family in. you paid no attention to their pitiful glances and continued walking to the sanctuary, tightly clutching on your small purse you carried.

"[y/n]? [f/n]? liane!"

you turned around to see one of your aunt and her husband walking towards you and your family. squinting your eyes, you stared at them, trying to figure out who it was.

but you forgot her name. she was like those type of aunts who you don't remember but they claim that they changed your diaper as a kid.
