Luckily they were able to get away quick enough from the mysterious figure and soon they made it to another part of the land. Everyone got off of the boat and began to move onto land. There wasn't really anywhere else for them to go except through a cave. "I'm sure our barrier won't keep that person away for too long so it's best we get going soon." Elvira stated, gesturing for her friend's to follow her into the cave. It was dark and definitely hard to see. "Ember can you make us some light? I really don't wanna trip and possibly twist my ankle..." muttered Bronwyn. Ember nodded and formed some fire in the palm of her hands and spotted a nearby stick, so she put her hands on the top, creating a torch for them then handed it to Elvira. The fire illuminated the dark cave and gave the group of witches a source of light. Faint sounds of water hitting against the ground echoed throughout.
"This place gives the major creeps..." Reva muttered, looking around with fear in her eyes. "We'll be out soon...we just have to pass the test then we can get out of this disgusting cave." Lucille muttered softly, her face scrunching up with disgust as she stepped into an unknown liquid. The cave was straight out of a horror film. Despite its disgusting appearance and how terrifying it seemed to be walking through it there were no creatures in sight. Just small little bugs crawling along the walls and floor. They could hear the faint echoes with each step they took. Soon they could hear light rumbling, a couple of pebbles and rocks shaking.
"Uhm guys...is it just me or did you feel the ground just shake?" Ember question, a nervous chuckle leaving her lips, praying that she was wrong and she was just imagining things. "No, no you aren't the only one." Elvira mumbled looking around at the cave. It was like all the girls froze, all having scared and concerned expressions on their faces. Soon another shake was felt but a lot more abrupt and aggressive, the girls could barely hold their balance, some falling down to the ground. "That isn't an earthquake is it?" Lucille asked with worry, not being able to stand up because the shaking was becoming a lot more frequent. The cave walls were beginning to crack and small rocks, and dust were beginning to fall."We need to get out of here now!" Kierra shouted, since it was so loud in the cave right now. All of the girls got up a bit wobbly and began trying to move through the cave, but it was only becoming more difficult to walk. The cave walls were beginning to collapse, and larger rocks were beginning to fall. The six witches were trying to run as fast as they could before they ended up being trapped inside. They group soon made it out of the cave safely, well, at least that's what they thought.
"AAHH!! HELP ME!" Shouted Reva, a large black cave spider held her hostage and was going deeper into the collapsing cave. All the girl's attention went to Reva, Elvira got roots to sprout up from the ground and shot at the spider, and grabbed it leg before yanking it hard towards them. Luckily it was hard enough to pull it out of the cave so Reva wouldn't have been crushed by rocks. When the spider was pulled out so abruptly it landed on its back with a loud thud, and Reva fell from his grasp. Elvira and Lucille quickly ran over to her and helped her up."Are you alright Reva? You're not hurt are you?" Lucille questioned with concern as they helped Reva walk over to the rest of the group. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine don't worry." Reva stammered, taking a shaky breath as she got herself together. "I'm glad you didn't get injured, that would've been really bad." Elvira sighed, gently patting the girl's back. "Here, sit down." The ice witch helped Reva sit down by a nearby tree, where they were covered with a bit of shade to hide from the sun's hot rays. "I know this may be a bad time to ask right now, but do you think that strange man is still following us?" asked Bronwyn who looked around with anxiousness. "Hopefully he isn't...I mean, even if he was he'd have to get through the cave but I think that'd be a pretty difficult task considering it caved in. There's no way in nor out." Elvira replied, looking back at the cave that was now filled with large rocks and boulders. There was no way the mysterious man could get through it. At least, that's what they were hoping for.
After they rested for a bit, and Reva could finally walk in a straight line they began to venture further through the forest. They were all tired since they had been using up most of their energy fighting off creatures within the forest. "I wonder when Mr. Ramiro is going to let us out of this thing. How many minutes has it been? What if we're late to our other classes?!" Lucille asked, panic lacing her tone. "We're not gonna be late, I'm sure before that happens Mr. Ramiro will pull us out of here." Kierra said, and everyone else nodded in agreement to what she had said.
They walked, and walked, and walked. It seemed like they were getting nowhere honestly. Almost as if they were a song stuck on a loop. The forest seemed almost endless to them the further they walked. The dead leaves that had fallen from the trees crunched beneath their feet as they walked. Crunching was mainly what you could hear along with the complaints from the six witches. "Ugh my feet are killing me!" Reva groaned out in annoyance "I feel like if we walk any further I'm just going to topple over. "I wonder when this simulation is finally going to end..." Ember murmured, glancing around the empty forest. Almost instantly, soon the world around them began to instantly fade away.
The blue skies were now metal roofing, the soft green grass soon became hard gray floor and any signs of nature disappeared as they were now surrounded by metal walls. Finally they were back in the simulation room and the doors opened up, and soon their teacher appeared. "Well done ladies, you made it through the simulation. I had to end it a little early because I wouldn't want you girls to be late to your next class, and give you a little bit of time to rest. But, regardless, you all passed! Well done." Mr. Ramira congratulated them, the six girl's looked at each other then back over at their teacher. The girls all thanked him one by one before heading out of the simulation room and back to their classroom.
"I'm so glad that stupid test is finally over, my feet are throbbing as if I've been stepping on rocks for a whole thirty minutes..." groaned in pain Reva who had still been complaining about how much pain she was in. "If they would let us skip our next class that would be awesome honestly. I wouldn't mind getting an extra hour of sleep." Elvira chimed in, stretching her arms quite a bit. Soon the girls departed and went onto their classes. The day went on like it usually did, and eventually it was time for their break period. Elvira of course headed to the library, a soft hum following her as she made her way there. She pushed open the tall wooden doors and walked inside. The strong smell of books and tea filled the air, creating a relaxing atmosphere in the room. But as she was walking past a particular shelf she heard a light thud so she stopped and turned around only to see a book had fallen from its shelf.
"Huh, weird." she thought to herself as she reached down to pick the book, and then read the cover of it. It had the words History of The Greatest Witches. written in big, bold, gold lettering. It looked fancy and of course piqued Elvira's interest. So she took the book and walked off towards one of the seating areas in the corner.
