I walked, as the heavy snow and wind went against me. It was as if they were protesting for me, letting me know that home, is a safe place. I agree. I really do.
But right now, I have to buy some groceries, then head back home... urgh... should have just stayed at home and ordered something. But now it's too late to turn back.
Suddenly, at the corner of my eyes I saw a red patch in the white snow by the dumpsters. I felt like I shouldn't have checked but my legs were already carrying me there.
"What the hell..." I muttered, seeing a child in rags, with dirty hair and bruises upon his legs and arms. I poked the child, seeing if it was still alive. I saw a little bit of movement.
"Seems like to me you're still alive..." I said, placing my hand on his forehead, before quickly retracting it. Goddamn! This child was running a fucking fever!
I can't just watch him die here... but my groceries... aw man. I quickly picked up the child, and hugged them tight. Hold on. I can't let you die on me...
I ran home as fast as I could, and opening my front doors. I plopped him onto the couch softly, and quickly grabbed a blanket in the closets to cover over him.
??? POV:
My eyes slowly opened a crack, everything seemingly blurry. Where was I...? This wasn't the streets... it's warm... Then, a weird blob seemed to want me to... drink something?...
I opened my mouth, not caring what it was. I just... want to feel something... even if it's pain. I sipped the thing. It was sleep. Soon, I was overcome with drowsiness, and I fell asleep.
(Y/n) POV:
I smiled, seeing the child drink the thing. I should really... get this child washed. Yeah. I picked him up once again, feeling his burning body, and brought him to the bathroom.
I sat him aside, going towards the tub and filling it with warm water. I grabbed a towel, and took off the rags that seemed to act like his clothes off. Oh. He was a boy. Nice to know.
I wiped him clean, and while washing, I discovered that his hair was actually white... like pure white. I shrugged the matter off, and soon dried him up and put him gently on my bed.
He needs this more than I do. I should cook something for him because I don't want him starving the moment he wakes up. I felt him forehead. Not as hot as before which is a good sign.
I walked to the kitchen, wanting to prepare something, but realized I don't have anything in my fridge. I frowned, seeing that I forgot. Whatever. I'll just order something online.
??? POV:
I woke up, to smelling something nice. I looked around my surroundings, seeing the change of surroundings, as I patted the fluffy bed. I got off the bed, and walked towards a mirror.
I saw myself in a oversized t-shit, and...nothing underneath. My face heated up. Who the hell did this to me? T-to do this irredeemable thing... I sighed, not wanting to look anymore.
I walked towards where the nice smell was coming from. "Oh, you're awake? Come have a seat here. The delivery just arrived. What do you want to eat? does anything here suit your taste?" She asks.
I frowned. This girl just... took me into her house. Interesting. I walked towards her, and pointed to her neck. "Blood." I said, not breaking any eye contact with her.
She seemed to have paused, before freaking out. "Say what?!" She shouts, jumping up. "Just kidding." I smiled, pretending I was really just joking. But the neck...
The temptation was so hard...if I just pushed her against the wall, slowly lick and- stop it. "Thank you for saving me." I smiled, trying to seem a little shy. That's what children are like right?
"It's alright! Where were your parents? What's your name? Why are you alone? Did they leave you there?" She asks, seemingly worried. I guess that would be a simple thing to go with right now.
"My name is Ethaniel. Yes, my parents didn't like me, so they threw me out the house." I said, trying to look at sad as I could be. I don't have the slightest idea of how that looks like, but meh.
"Oh, poor you. How about you stay with me for the time being, before we find a proper place for you to be?" She asks. I paused, sitting there. Did I really want to go?
"No...I want to stay with this pretty big sister." I said, pinching myself so tears came out my eyes. "Oh...um..." I could see she was now troubled.
"Here, drink this medicine so you could feel better." She says, handing a cup of icky, bitter looking thing. I frowned. This didn't seem good.
"Big sister-" "Drink it." She said, before I could finish my sentence. It was as if she had known. I gulped, and quickly finished the thing. It was....just the worst!
I held it in, trying not to vomit. "I'm done big sister-" She puts a hand on my head, then covers my eyes with a cloth. "Wait a second. I got a surprise for you."
I waited there patiently, before she popped something into my mouth. It was...sweet? She then takes the cloth. "Does it taste good?" She smiles gently, patting my head.
"I know the medicine was bitter, so this candy is a good job for you okay? My mom used to do this to me when I was smaller." She says. 'Thump'
...Thump? Why would...why would my heart go...thump...? My face flushed red, as I dodged her pats on the head, not wanting her to do this anymore. Do I...like her?
That can't be possible...I've never ever felt this-what if it's a sign that I really hate her? But...she treats me with such warmth...I've never felt that before...
I held my head, as her words melted as I just stared into my lap, trying to figure things out from here. I bit onto the candy, as it cracked into small pieces.
Is this really what love tastes like? Sweet...and savory.
