Chapter 15-Rachel and the Boat

''Adoptive or not, her parents all had the same fate.''

Y/n doesn't move for a few seconds, as if taken aback by the question. It had surprised her.

''Well, Kaiba is...''

Mokuba smiled at her, the small glint in his eyes never disappearing.

''Is?''

Y/n looked at the teenager laying in his bed, trying to find the proper words, words she wasn't sure she could actually find. Truthfully, she had no idea what her real emotions were. He was an asshole when he wanted to be but he also had a heart, surprisingly, and he showed his care for her a couple of times. She settled for what seemed like the best answer.

''Kaiba is Kaiba.''

Mokuba grinned at her.

''Do you like him?''

Y/n's cheeks flushed a light pink at the question. Did she like Kaiba? That couldn't be possible, could it?

''You're blushing!''

Mokuba gushed, screaming happily as the woman hid her face in her hands. He started laughing happily as she stayed in place, her mind running about the man. Did she like him? She couldn't possibly? Could she?

It would be completely illogical. They had barely met a few days ago. And with how things were going, she probably would have to let them go and find someone else who would help her get her sister back.

''So? What's your final answer? If you don't say anything, I'm taking it as you liking him.''

Mokuba's voice brought her back and she raised her head and looked at him.

''He isn't that annoying. I believe that people exaggerate him a little. He is fun to be around and I often find myself enjoying his presence. Only when he isn't angry though. But even if I do enjoy having him around, it doesn't mean I like him. We are business partner and that is all we are ever going to be.''

Mokuba gives Y/n a knowing smile.

''You know, people put rules, most humans go by them, others believe they are simply meant to be broken. The rest of the world might see it as something that's not right. But as far as I am concerned, I just want you and Seto happy. If you are happier living without rules and things stopping you, then you can live like that.''

Y/n looks at Mokuba, e/c pools softening.

''You're very smart for someone your age. I'm not saying I want to date Kaiba and I'm not saying I don't, but if I were to, it would be under different circumstances. He is technically my boss, Mokie, it is against the law around here to date someone who works above you. I'd rather not take the risk of putting my entire lifetime work for a couple of feelings. You're very smart, but your thoughts are dangerous. You are so similar to my S/n. I can't wait for you both to meet. You're going to become such good friends.''

Mokuba nodded his head, smiling at the CEO in front of him while internally plotting for something. Something that would later change the course of this story.

''Alright. Let's forget about Seto for a while. Can you tell me more about your story? How did you end up in Domino City? Did you get here by choice? Where were you before that? How much time did you have to stay on that boat?''

L/n felt a small pinch at her heart at the thought of what had happened to them before they actually arrived here and met Leida. She was her savior at that time. But she sadly did not stay with them for long.

She looked at Mokuba. She couldn't actually tell him all the true story. It was too dark for a teenager to be bothered by it. And she knew that Mokie would go back to his brother and tell Kaiba everything. Then, who knew what would happen next.
