''After so long, the words just came pouring out of her.
And he could see the good it made her, from the way her body acted.''
During the very long days S/n, Rachel, Y/n and all the other kids spent on the boat, Y/n never stopped getting hurt. She never stopped protecting everyone. Her unwanted tattoo was actually true. She would die to protect everyone she loved. She felt as though she had a family.
After a while, she got used to having men's hands on her. She got used to having to strip naked and lay on the cold and hard bed. She got used to feeling a warm, disgusting, sticky and smelly liquid on her.
She got used to smiling at her sister like nothing was wrong. She got used to crying herself to sleep when everyone else was already dreaming. She got used to living like this. On a boat where rats and them shared the same place.
That very place where there was always the scent of the sea mixed with sweat and dirt of the kids who hadn't washed up for months on end. The same place where no matter where she went and what she did, she would always end up cut, bleeding or bloodied. She could always taste the blood in her mouth.
But one day, a member of the crew, someone who had been forced to work for the skin traders, got her a gift. Something he knew she would love. Something that would solve everything.
A phone.
Simple, easy to use and very needed. She waited for everyone to get to bed, she waited until she could hear the waves crash on the hard wood of the boat. She waited until the moon was high in the sky and the only light that allowed her to see which buttons she was pressing was the moonlight.
Rachel was sitting beside her, two kids' heads on her lap as she held the hands of two other youngest children. She had smiled at her, a smile so bright, Y/n thought she was going to be blinded for the rest of her life. That smile gave the energy and all the courage she needed to get this over and done with.
And with that, she called them.
Y/n looked at Seto. The brown haired man was fixing her lips, waiting for the words to fall out so he could continue to hear about her story. So he could hear the broken melody that Y/n L/n was.
He was desperately wishing he had taken all those hits for her. He couldn't bear the thought of having anyone putting his hands on her and hurting her. He was ready to go on a killing spree. The urge was weird, almost had something savage and animal about it. As if his own senses and body was telling him to protect all he cared for.
It was at this moment that he realised how much Y/n meant to him. He had grown attached to her, her voice, her beautiful and soft looking hair, her plump and always tinted red lips. Those lips that he yearned to kiss.
He would never let anyone hurt her, ever again.
The woman finished her whiskey glass and went and stole a sip from Seto's glass that was on the table as he was way too intrigued in her story to even bother drinking anymore.
When they landed in the port of Domino City, it was at night, two days after she first contacted the police station that was nearest to the docks, according to Rachel who lived there her whole life.
The cars were all hidden from view, letting all the criminals working on the boat thinking that everything was going perfectly according to their plan.
They got half of the kids, including Rachel, S/n and Y/n, shackled up and brought them on the upper deck to sell them to a buyer who was impatiently waiting on the ground for them. They were going to be sold to a brothel.
