The next day I stare at my phone. Knowing that I have to call my dad back. He's always been the one who tried the hardest to be there for me. Never picking favorites like my mother did. My mother would often compare me to my sister, telling me that I should try harder. That's one of the reasons why I moved out here, even my own sister couldn't take my mothers rambling. I'm startled as it starts ringing in my hand. I look down to see that my dads calling me again. Taking a deep breathe I accept the phone call.
"Son?" My dads voice sounds through the phone. Calming me down. His voice has a deep timber to it, and it always reminds me of when he would read bed time stories to me.
"Hi dad." I whisper. I hear him sigh through the phone in relief.
"I'm glad that you picked up. I've been worried since you mother told me about...." His voice hesitates. Tears fill my eyes at his tone.
"I'm sorry dad. It's been hard lately." I apologize softly.
"It's okay son. Why didn't you tell us?" He asks. His tone not accusing.
"I couldn't dad, I was afraid." I explain.
"Son, I'm coming to visit you and your sister. Don't worry, your mother isn't coming. She and I... Haven't been seeing eye to eye lately." He explains, his tone tight.
"Okay, you don't have to dad." I whisper. Saddened that I caused a rift between my parents.
"Yes I do, not only is my son going through the hardest point of his life so far, but my grandson is coming into the world. I am needed." He says. His stubbornness showing.
"Fine dad. When are you coming?" I ask.
"Next week, is that fine for you?" He responds.
"I have a meeting with a lawyer next week. Other than that I'm good." I say. He's silent for a moment.
"He will get the justice he deserves Derek." He promises. His tone strong.
"I hope so dad." I whisper.
"I have to get back to work son. I love you more than anything." He whispers back. I could tell that he's sad and that makes me feel guilty.
"I love you too dad" I reply. Tears streaming down my face. We hang up and I fall back on the bed. Kendall and Monroe are out at the moment and I'm feeling extremely lonely. I know that I'm being ridiculous, not wanting to be by myself. After a few minutes of silently crying I sit up and walk into the kitchen. I walk to the counter and pick up the black card that Orion gave me the other day. Debating if I should call him or not. Maybe he was just trying to be nice.
I pick up my home phone and dial the office number. After a few minutes a female voice answers.
"Hello, Mr. Corneilles office. Janice speaking." She says.
"Um, hi. I got this number from Orion, he told me to call him if I needed anything." I whisper. Becoming self conscious.
"Derek?" She asks after hearing her go through papers.
"Ugh yeah." I respond.
"Great, I'll patch you through. Please wait a moment sir." She replies kindly.
"Okay." I whisper. Jumping up on the counter. After a few moments I hear the line change.
"Hello? Derek?" Orion's British accent soothes me.
"Hi." I whisper.
"Is everything alright." He asks, worry filling his voice. I think if my dad, and about how much pain I've cause him and my mother. The tears begin to flow again.
"N-not really." I whisper. My voice breaking.
"I'll be right there." He says, hanging up before I could object. I look down at what I'm wearing and gasp. I jump down and run to the bathroom. Taking a quick shower and then changing into clean clothes. By the time I'm finished Orion is already knocking at my door.
"Just a minute!" I call out, brushing my hair with my fingers as I rush towards the door. I swing the door open to find Orion smiling softly down on me. Dressed in a fancy suit seeing as he just got here from work.
"Hey Derek." He whispers, bringing me into a tight hug. Which causes me to break out sobbing.
"Shh, it's okay. We'll get through this." He whispers, kissing my head and rocking us back and forth.
"I-it's so hard Orion! I'm causing others pain, I shouldn't have told anybody." I sob out. Clinging to his dress shirt.
"Stop it Derek. You were right by telling somebody." He objects. Pulling away to look into my eyes. His eyes are sad but serious. He nods at me happily when my sobbing calms down. "Now let's go sit down and you will explain to me what triggered you." He says, pushing me back so he could enter the apartment. He then pulls me to the couch and sets me down. Then he sits beside me, pulling me into his side.
"My dad called. My mother and him haven't been getting along since I told, well blurted out that Parker raped me after she was vouching for his innocence. I was just so upset that I couldn't stop myself. He wants to come visit next week. It's too much Orion. I can't handle it." I sob out. Feeling severely over whelmed.
"It's good that he's coming down, he's supporting you. Let him." He whispers, I look up at him.
"What if he's disgusted by what I tell him?" I ask. Doubting myself again.
"He won't be, he loves you Derek, nothing will change that," he promises.
"But my mother..." I whisper.
"Your mother can come around if not, she's not a good person and she's a better off not in your life." He says, sounding like he's experienced parents not accepting him.
"I guess your right. I told Kendall and Monroe. My roommate and his boyfriend. Monroe set me up a meeting with his lawyer." I say, looking up at him for his approval. He tightens his hold on me.
"That's amazing Derek. You are doing the right thing. Are you going to go alone?" He asks. Looking at me with worry. I nod my head.
"Yeah it's something that I have to do by myself." I whisper. Knowing that I do not want to depend on somebody for everything.
"Good. You are very strong Derek. Don't look at me that way, you are. You remained strong throughout this entire experience and I know how hard that is." He compliments me. Making me blush and look away. His hand touches my cheek, brushing away the tears streaming down my face.
"Thank you." I whisper, not looking at him.
"I want to be here for you Derek." He admits. This makes me experience immense shock. Why would he want to support me through this? I haven't been nothing but trouble to him.
"Why?" I ask. Looking down at the floor.
"I see myself in you, and I would be lying if I said that I'm not interested in you." He explains. I look at him shyly. Blushing madly.
"Really?" I ask. Surprised that a man would still be interested in me after knowing my dark secret.
"Yes really." He says with a small smile. He's truly beautiful. His dark blue eyes that are hooded. Dark blonde hair that's now pushed back, showing off his amazing bone structure. His lips in my opinion is his best feature. They are always pouting because of his big bottom lip.
His head dips to mine and said lips press against mine softly. I sigh through my nose. The slight touch comforting and easing my emotions.
