The dim lighting of Aleksander's room cast long shadows across the walls as the night deepened. The soft crackle of the fireplace was the only sound that filled the air, aside from the occasional murmur of their voices. Amira and Aleksander were wrapped in each other's arms, their kisses lingering, filled with passion, but also restraint.

Amira had always been careful about boundaries, even as the connection between her and Aleksander grew stronger by the day. Their bond as mates was undeniable, but there was something unspoken, a line they had yet to cross.

As Aleksander's lips trailed from hers to her neck, she sighed softly, her fingers threading through his dark hair. The intensity between them was palpable, but as always, there was a pause—a hesitation.

Amira broke the silence, her voice a little breathless but steady. "Aleksander... when do you want to cross that line?"

His lips stilled against her neck for a moment before he slowly pulled back, his dark eyes meeting hers. There was a tenderness in his gaze, mixed with desire, but also something deeper—patience.

"I've been thinking about that," Aleksander murmured, his hand gently brushing a strand of hair from her face. "I want to wait. When your heat comes... I want it to be special for you. When we finally cross that line, I want it to mean something more."

Amira's heart swelled at his words, a warmth spreading through her. She wasn't surprised by his answer, but hearing him say it filled her with a sense of comfort she hadn't realized she needed. She had always trusted Aleksander, but knowing that he was willing to wait for her—until the timing felt right—meant everything.

She smiled softly, her hand cupping his cheek. "You're too good to me, you know that?"

Aleksander chuckled, leaning in to kiss her once more. "It's not about being good. It's about doing this right. And right now, this..." he kissed her again, his lips soft but firm against hers, "...this is enough."

They continued to kiss, their hands roaming each other's bodies with a slow, deliberate intensity. There was no rush, no need to push further than they were both comfortable with. For now, the simple act of being together was more than enough.

A New Lead

Their quiet moment was interrupted by a knock on the door. Aleksander sighed, pulling away slightly as his forehead rested against hers. "Duty calls," he muttered with a hint of annoyance.

Amira smiled, giving him one last kiss before she pulled herself up from the bed. Aleksander crossed the room and opened the door, revealing one of his soldiers standing there, his expression serious.

"General," the soldier said, his tone urgent. "We've received a lead on Anna's abuser. It's solid."

Aleksander's expression immediately shifted, becoming hard and focused. "What do you have?"

The soldier handed him a folded piece of paper. "We've located someone who was seen with her before she was brought into our care. The information matches the description Amira gave of the situation."

Aleksander took the paper, glancing over it quickly before nodding. "Good. Send a unit out to track him down. I want him brought in."

Amira stepped forward, her expression darkening as she took in the information. "If this is the person responsible for hurting Anna, I want to make sure we handle this right."

Aleksander nodded, understanding the depth of her emotions on this. "We will."

As the soldier left to carry out his orders, Aleksander turned back to Amira. "I'll have our best people on this. They'll find him."
