The morning sun filtered through the windows of the Little Palace, casting a warm glow over the room as Amira and Aleksander finished their final preparations. The air between them was filled with anticipation, an unspoken understanding passing between them as they packed their bags for the trip to the family vault. It was the place Aleksander had chosen for their special moment—a secluded, safe space where they could be alone, away from the distractions of the palace and the pack.
Amira could feel the subtle shift in her body, the warmth within her growing stronger each day. Her heat was getting closer, and with each passing moment, the need to be with Aleksander—to bond with him fully—became more intense. She could feel her wolf stirring within her, restless and ready for what was to come. It made her feel both excited and a little nervous, but she knew she could trust Aleksander to take care of her.
Aleksander, ever the protector, moved around the room with purpose. His eyes would occasionally flicker over to Amira, softening when they met hers. He could sense her growing restlessness, and it filled him with a deep desire to make this experience perfect for her.
"Are you ready?" Aleksander asked gently as he finished packing, his eyes watching her with concern and affection.
Amira gave him a small nod, a smile playing on her lips. "Almost. Just... a little more nervous than I expected," she admitted softly.
Aleksander walked over to her, pulling her into his arms. His hand stroked her back gently as he kissed the top of her head. "It's normal to feel that way," he whispered. "But you don't have to be afraid. We're doing this together, Amira. I'll be with you every step of the way."
Amira leaned into him, her head resting against his chest. His words were a balm to her growing anxiety. "I know," she murmured. "I just want everything to be right."
Aleksander smiled, pulling back slightly so he could look into her eyes. "It will be. We'll make it right—together."
He kissed her softly, their lips meeting in a brief but tender exchange. When they pulled away, Amira felt a renewed sense of calm and focus. She finished packing the last of her things, her heart racing with both excitement and the anticipation of the journey ahead.
Final Preparations
As they prepared to leave, Amira took a deep breath, feeling the warmth of her impending heat wash over her. It was stronger now, the telltale signs growing more pronounced. She could feel her wolf pushing to the surface, eager for the connection that would come once they arrived at the vault.
Aleksander, ever mindful of her condition, kept a watchful eye on her as they made their way to the door. He had already sent word to Atticus, who would arrive soon with his brothers to oversee the pack during their absence.
"You sure you're ready for this?" Aleksander asked one more time, his voice low and filled with concern as he opened the door.
Amira smiled at him, her eyes glinting with determination. "Yes. Let's go."
With a nod, Aleksander took her hand, leading her out of the room and through the palace. As they walked, Amira couldn't help but notice the curious glances from some of the wolves they passed. There was an air of expectancy in the palace—whispers of their Alpha and Luna's impending journey had spread, and everyone knew something significant was about to happen.
But no one dared question them. They all knew this was a private matter between Aleksander and Amira, one that didn't concern the rest of the pack. Still, there was a certain weight to the moment, a recognition that when they returned, something would have shifted between their leaders.
