Shattered Glass

Trust was once a bridge so strong,
A quiet bond, a word, a song.
But now it lies in broken beams,
Torn apart by shattered dreams.

I gave my heart, my faith, my soul,
Believing truth would make us whole.
But whispers came, deceit did grow,
A silent storm that none could know.

Each promise frayed, each vow unmade,
Like fading light at end of day.
A hand I held, now cold and strange,
The warmth replaced by chilling change.

Trust, like glass, once clear and bright,
Can crack with just a touch of night.
And now, the pieces at my feet,
Too sharp to hold, too rough to meet.

Can I rebuild this fractured line,
Or let it go, leave it behind?
For trust, once lost, is hard to find,
A fragile thread that time can't bind.
