49 | THE AWAKEN
THE eyes of the girl were simply filled with terror, and not for her, but for those around her. She wanted them safe, not victims of whatever —whoever was standing ahead of them.
Cassia felt her blood run cold and slow, if that could even happen. Her hands felt numb, and she wasn't sure if it was because of the ice that ran through her veins. Her eyes never escaped every move the woman made, and now much less that she noticed the green hue grow before her.
It started, from the bottom of the cloak, and it began to go up covering the whole body frame of the woman. The electricity made Cassia's eyes squint, making her head shift, and so did the rest of the girls.
"What the hell is going on?!" Yelled Evie at the sight of this. Her voice cracked from the fear growing inside, because now a new woman stood ahead of them.
A woman with dark hair. Dark as a sky that had no stars in it. Her skin seemed flawless, despite many poisons injected, and her lips as red as blood.
"I don't — I don't understand... You were—"Cassia was cut off from her sentence. "Who are you?"
"My name is, Amara. I simply used a poor soul to help me disguise myself." With her hands waving in front of her, Amara's tone made it clear she thought of it as nothing.
"How could you do that?" Still shocked, the girl said.
"I used a student too. I used her to take out these two." The woman ahead waved her hand toward the two unconscious boys.
"What did you do to them?" Her words vacated in a whispering tone, Cassia's eyes glancing at the boys.
They remained hanging in the vines, Elliot's face revealed an expression by keeping his eyebrows knit together. Though for Harry, his didn't. The pirate was out like a light, his features blank.
"They're in a deep sleep." The eyes of the female followed where Cassia's looked. "So whatever you do won't help. Yet, he keeps on waking up." She points toward Elliot.
Maybe because his system was stronger than Harry's in magic. But it wouldn't matter, when they were little, Uma would use him and Gil for any sort of spell.
"You should let them go." Swallowing, Cassia gazed at the woman. Her head high, and feet set on the ground.
The maniacal sound of the woman's laugh filled the garden. But she halted her laugh when Cassia concluded her sentence. "Let them go... And I'll give you what you want."
