I walked towards the department and saw Harini following me behind. 

"sir.. please sir" She pleaded me, now coming to the front blocking me from walking forward.

"Harini.. move ..leave the way" 

I went past her fast.

Entering in to the department, I kept my belongings , opening my cupboard. Harini remained silent because other staffs were there. But she was constantly behind me trying to ask for forgiveness.

Let her be. She must know to respect elders. In fact everyone for that matter. I messaged Adhi  but he did not reply. 

May be he is still in the class or walking to the department. I thought to wait for him to go for the lunch. Sitting comfortably on my chair I opened my system and worked on the notes and programs for the next class after the lunch break.

Harini stood in front of me pleading again and again. At a point she cried heavily. Few other staffs have left the room. It is only me , Harini and one more staff. 

"What happened?" the other professor asked.

"Students these days think they are the ones who know everything and talk disrespectfully with the teachers" I said. 

"You belong to which year?" he queried.

"First.. first year" Harini replied.

"Oh .. started from the very first year. Do you think you all are adults and know everything the moment you step in to college? You consider us as fools for advising you and tease us. Some students are like this Vikram. Can't change them. Its of no use talking to them. Only their experience will change them"  my colleague shouted at her and left the place.

"sir.. please sir.. I will not talk like that hereafter nor read such kind of books Sir .. Please sir.. If my parents come to know about this , they will definitely stop me from studying Sir. Please Sir.. I want to study .. after a long struggle I have joined college here. I will not talk disrespectfully like that Sir" 

"nan enna manga madayana? light ah nee kanna kasakinadhum vidradhuku?"

(am I a fool to believe your tears? Do you think I will leave you easily seeing you cry?)

"Sir.. Please Sir.. I am really sorry. Sorry sir. Please don't inform my parents Sir."

Her cry grew heavier.

"HOD Is on the way. Wait and meet her" I said and saw Adhi come inside the department. 

She stood there still crying. 

Looking at Adhi she pleaded to him.

"Sir. please sir.. can you please ask Vikram sir to not call my parents . He has complained me to HOD"

Adhi looked at me. 

"The imposition paper. I have informed to HOD and she has asked me to call her parents to meet her tomorrow" I said looking at Adhi.

"is this the way you behave Harini? Don't you know this is all wrong? Also I heard that you were reading something inappropriate in the college. Don't you know it is all inappropriate?" Adhi shouted at her. 

"Sir.. I don't do that usually sir. That day out of curiosity I read that.. I agree that I made mistake. I won't repeat it hereafter sir" Harini cried heavily.
