"I.. I said.. I don't like him before our Mar.."
"Harini" I heard Vikram sir voice who cut short my sentence. I looked at him with teary eyes.
He shaked my head to not tell. But I must admit . Admit all my mistakes.
"I..I told him that.."
"Harini.. enough.. " he said and turned to others. " lets us all not create a big issue with all this. Hari , I need to leave to Bangalore in half an hour . Help me catch an auto from here to the bus stop" Vikram sir said
"I had a liking towards him before the marriage."
"Harini" Vikram sir held my hand and dragged me to stop me from saying anything. But I refrained.
" let me tell everything Sir. I am the one responsible for your state right now." turning to others I continued . " When he proposed, I was in a dilema. But the next day I got to know that I have got his alliance , I said ok for his love proposal. And he thinks that I too was in love with him before the marriage proposal happened. I played with his feelings. I gave him all false hopes. He thought we both were in love with each other. And I played a prank on that too on our first night. Everything is my mistake. I am the one who hurt him badly. I am the reason for his state now"

(we sent you to study in college. But you chose to fall in love and roam around. Is this it the reason you were hell bent on going to a college in Bangalore)
Vikram Sir pulled me towards him forbidding my father from beating me.
"I.. I even went out on outing with him b.."
"Harini.. stop .. enough" he forbid me from saying and pressed my hand harder.
"you went out .. what??" my brother shouted at me in a threatening manner and pulled me harshly from Vikram sir's hold.
"Hari. nothing.. just stop with all this.. Don't make this all complicated" Vikram sir said.
"she went on an outing with him before the marriage . Alone to watch a movie" my SIL told.
"you know it before? then why did you not say it ?" my brother shouted at her.
"I had a slight doubt on her after seeing her drawing a guy often in her drawing notebook. No one believed me when I said this to you all. Remember you all shouted at me for suspecting your daughter. "
"still you could have at least told me about their outing .. why did you hide from me?" my brother shouted at her.
"oh... Harini is very clever. She went on an outing with him after the marriage proposal is confirmed. Remember when we all went to Chennai to meet his parents at his house. That is when this all has happened" my SIL broke the news.
My brother slapped me real hard.
"so you lied that day and got money from me. And you do remember the amount of fight happened between me and your manni for forbidding me from giving money to you. Yet you remained silent. How selfish and cruel you are Harini" he slapped me twice harshly.
"how many more lies you have hidden? from where did you learn to lie this fluently?" my Father shouted at me.
My mom dragged be by my hand and bet me harshly. Vikram sir tried to forbid them from beating me, while I stood there crying.
I heard all my relatives talk bad about me. Hearing the commotion, few of the neighbors too gathered. It was all so embarrassing. This is how he would have also felt when he was accused wrongly for my prank. I deserve this. Hence I stood silent.
