I returned to Bangalore the next day as I will be taking off for the naming ceremony after few days.
Back to college, I got busy with my work in completing the portions and internals for the rest of the classes. Harini's and her class were so much petrified the next day thinking I am going to punish them for what they did.
I did not have time to punish them on that for now as I was in a rush to complete the portions. A week passed and their internal tests and assignments were submitted as well. The class got relaxed a bit and was back to normal, including Harini.
I had my dinner and was walking in the park, when I received call from Harini.
"chellam" she addressed me caringly.
"hmm"
"pattu kutty"
"hmm"
"chella kutty" she called me with so much love adoringly.
"sollu chellam..ketttutu dhan iruken" ( tell me darling. I am all ears) I replied her.
"ahemm.. you are so handsome and smart. "
"ahaan.. then"
"pcch.. seriously I am saying.. you know how much of a good person you are. Everyone in our class have a huge respect on you"
"therinjudhey.. en mela enna maariyana respect vachurkeenga neenga elarumnu"
(ya I know very well. how much of big respect you all have on me - sarcasm)
"hey.. no no.. don't think bad about us.. That is all chumma .. lululla.. ahemm"
"leave those nonsense talks. do you like that anklet?"
"Chellam...." she whined
"enna di" ( what ? - in a loving manner)
"please chellam.. for the internals show us some mercy"
"so how is the preparations for wedding going on ?" I diverted the topic not answering her question.
"I hate you chellam"
"ok. good night"
"hey chellam.. karisanamey illaya?? unga wife ipdi romba kami mark vangina ungaluku dhaney adhu romba asingam"
(don't you feel pity for me darling? will it not be a shame if your wife has got few marks?"
"Its getting late Harini.. I am going to retire to sleep. Bye" I cut her call. Its almost 11 pm at night. And Harini specifically dialed me at this time , not to talk casually but for convincing me.
Why not? After the mall incident, today I gave them a surprise test with carefully picked highly tough set of questions. Including Meghana the topper, has not written well in the test who scored less marks. The marks they have secured is so low than the previous test that was conducted. It is all very low for them. Only if they score more marks in exam, they can pass, else would be very difficult.
Even more difficult is I was handling two subjects and a practical for them. Imagine getting very low marks in all the three subjects including Adhi's one. Hence the panic among the students.
Harini has dialed me to convince me in taking the previous test marks. Else why would she call me at this untime? She had been chatting with me for more than 2 hours today, solely for convincing me.
The next day, I came early to the college and went to the canteen. I saw Meghana, Harini and sitting near a table.
Samyuktha who was near my left side filling a cup of water, looked at me . Or should I say trying to hide her stern glare?
