The Wild Night

Jennie POV

I was sitting at the beach after having dinner. Enjoying the night breeze and hearing the wave sound is always calming me.

"Why are you still outside? It's windy"

I look up to the voice direction and saw Lisa standing beside me.

"Come, sit here"

She obliged.

"You're not answering my question" She said.

"Do I have to always answering your question?"

She look at me annoyed.

"Can't you just answering my question?" She asked.

"Can't you just admit it that you still love me?" I asked her back.

We look into each other's eyes. Her eyes getting darker and makes the butterfly in my stomach flipping.

She took a deep sigh.

"I promised you that I will behaved throughout this trip. Please make it easier for me" She said.

I avert my gaze from her and staring at the ocean.

"I'm sitting here to enjoy the night breeze and listening to the wave. It brings me peace and make me calm. Don't you feel the same?" I asked her.

"My life has been a chaos for the past few years. I don't know what is calm like" She said flat.

I place my hand on hers and stroking it with my thumb.

"Try to close your eyes and focus on the wave sound and the breeze that hitting your face" I said.

She just sit silently looking at me.

"Please..." I plead.

She closed her eyes, her brows were furrowed.

"Relax your mind" I said in whisper.

I saw her trying to relax and controlling her breathe. Slowly, a small smile appear on her lips.

"It's calming, isn't it?"

She nodded "It is"

Maybe this is the first time after our reunion, where we sit without bickering each other. I hope this is a good start for us.

I saw her open her eyes slowly and then she get up.

"Let's take a walk" She said while extending her hand to me. I took it and she help me to get up.

We talk while walking at the beach, she's holding my sandals because I want to feel the chill and wet sands on my feet.

"Since when you have interest in taking your family business forward?" She asked.

"Since I failed to be a singer"

She laughed.

"At least you have a backup plan. Look at me. If I failed in taking my father's business, I will end up sleeping on the street" She said which make me laugh.

"You are fine Lisa. You are good with your work. You managed to get good deals for the company. All I'm doing here is just helping you to expand it"

"Why'd your father buy my company?"

"For the sake of friendship. Dad wants to help your father. He actually can buy the whole share but he knows how much your father loves this company"

"Are you sure? It's not because you want to get close to me?" She asked which caused me stopped from my walk.
