Chapter II: Meeting The Blond

We were walking around until a group of loud boys walked passed us and a tall blonde bumped into me. "Oh, sorry babe." He smirked and winked at me then turned around to walk with his friends. The nerve of this guy.

Charlotte pulled me to walk faster.

"What? What's wrong Charlotte?! It was just a couple of idiots walking by, so what?" I asked, confused of what the problem was.

"Those weren't just any idiots, they're the ones my sister warned me about and their damn king bumped into you!" Charlotte panicked.

I scoffed "what are you so worried about, who cares?" Walking nonchalantly.

"When one of those boys sees a female, they will stop at nothing to get with her." Charlotte said worried.

"You think I'm gonna let that prick talk to me?" I laughed not even being able to imagine a sight like that.

"No, I just don't want them to harass you." she said worried.

"Relax, I'll be fine." I responded with a lazy wave of my hand.

We walked back to our dorm building and entered our newly decorated living area. Finally home, I climbed the small ladder to my bed and looked at Charlotte, who's bed was across from mine on the other end of the room. Our beds were the same kind so we were level with each other. She smiled at me and said "I'm really glad you're my roommate, I wouldn't want it to be anyone else."

"Me too." I grinned at my new friend and roommate. We spent the whole day out after settling in and came back to our dorm at around 10 pm so we fell asleep after the long day.

Waking up was never an easy task for me to accomplish. It didn't matter how early I went to bed, I could never get up in the mornings. I looked at Charlotte across the room and she was still asleep too. I thought of an idea and sneakily got out of bed. I got my speakers and searched for Green Days "American Idiot" for it's loud chorus. I brought the volume up and found the part of the song that was the chorus and pressed play.

"WELCOME TO A NEW KIND OF TENSION. ALL ACROSS THE ALIENATION. WHERE EVERYTHING ISN'T MEANT TO BE OKAY." Blared out of the speakers and Charlotte awoke in a panic and in the midst of her startled state, she somehow fell of the bed and onto the floor. I was on the floor laughing with her, at this point.

I whipped a tear and said "That-That was the best idea I've ever had." Still giggling.

"I'm gonna get you back for that!" Charlotte yelled, also laughing. She threw a pillow at me and I huffed trying to move my hair out of my face. I fought back and she hid behind the couch. I ran to the couch and threw the pillow at her and she fell back.

"That's right woman, I win!" I looked at Charlotte and stuck my hand out to help her up. She took this as her opportunity to get her revenge and pulled me down with her.

"Touché." I said as we got up and began to get dressed and ready for the day. Today was Sunday so we were going to get all our books ready for tomorrow then, walk around campus to get familiar with everything.

Putting our bags and books on our desks, we walked out of our dorm and off to explore the choices for breakfast.

It was sunny but breezy outside and the weather put me in a good mood. we walked over to the cafeteria and found a nice restaurant that served pancakes, waffles, and other breakfast foods. We got our pancakes and walked to a table, ready to eat our delicious looking breakfast.

We are in comfortable silence and walked out, once we were done. We left the cafeteria and continued our exploration and somehow ended up on the side of the campus, where all the fraternity and sorority members hung out. We didn't realize this until we saw the boys we encountered yesterday.

Charlotte turned to walk the other way but, I stopped her, knowing we'd look scared if we turned back now. I walked with her next to me, making the whole plan in my head, to walk past them and onto the other end of campus.

We were almost there and then, we got stopped. Why? We were having such a nice day, why did something have to go wrong?!

I looked up and see the same blond boy who bumped into me yesterday. of course his group of friends were with him too.

"We previously bumped into each other but, I never caught your name?" He stared down at me with a smug look on his face. Cute, he thinks he can intimidate me.

"Not any of your business." I said looking at him with a challenging expression.

"The names Luke Hemmings, you'll know it pretty well though." He smirked.

"Ava Brooks, you won't be hearing from me though." I retorted and walked away with Charlotte.
