Chapter VII: A Dip in the Pool

"I said, have you done anything really crazy?" "I-uh, not too crazy, no." I said shyly. "Well then tonight's your lucky night, sweetheart." Calum said smiling at me. Oh no, this can't end well.

The boys lead Charlotte and I to the indoor swimming pool and Ashton asked Charlotte for a bobby pin and took a paper clip out of his pocket. Charlotte gave him a bobby pin, confused. Ashton kneeled down and wiggled them in the key hole until we all hear a click.

The boys opened the door and we all walked in. I then realized that we had just broken into the university swim teams pool.

The boys were taking their shirts off and Charlotte was pulling her dress off. I was beginning to feel self conscious and didn't want to take my dress off. I then felt Charlottes hand on my arm, "It's okay Ava, no ones going to look at you in a bad way." And smiled. She reassured me a little but, I still felt a little uneasy. They were all so eager to have a crazy night and I didn't want to ruin it for them so, I obliged.

I slowly got into the warm water, which was pleasant because it was the beginning of fall. The boys were splashing each other and Charlie was swimming around, leisurely. I leaned against the pool wall and enjoyed the warmth for a while and looked to see that I was rather far from the rest of the group.

Luke caught my eye and we shared eye contact for 3 seconds before I looked down, at the pool floor. I felt a hand on my ankle and I panicked when I was suddenly pulled underwater. I flailed my arms, trying to resurface, scared I would drown. Once I swam back up and took a breath, I heard the giggles of the boys and I turned to see Michael looking at me with a small smile "Sorry for the scare but it's time to have fun and let go".

I nodded and splashed Mikey's face and he stared at me, eyes squinted and splashed me back, yelling "Payback's a bītch, Ava!"

We all laughed and continued our little dip in the pool until we were bored and ready to move on with the night and it's many adventures, that were yet to be discovered.

I got out of the pool and put my dress back on. My hair was still wet and the fall wind was a sure factor that I was going to be sick after tonight.

We piled into Luke's car and headed to our next destination. I was looking out the window as the warm air of the heater hit my face. We pulled up on a street of dorm buildings. I was confused why, non of us lived here so what were we doing?

The boys got sharpies and glue out of the trunk of the car. Charlotte and I understood that we were gonna prank someone the boys knew.

"Just going to pay an old friend a visit, won't take long." Ashton smirked and winked at Charlotte. I eyed her skeptically as she blushed even more. "Charlie you never told me you had a thing for the frat boys." I said in a monotone voice, trying to sound disapproving. She looked up at me with worried eyes, stumbling her words. "I was just kidding Charlotte, I think you look cute with Ash." I smiled, ruffling her hair. She pushed my hand off her head with a laugh and we waited in the car, warm and happy.

The boys ran out of the dorm building and jumped into Luke's black Jeep and drove away.

Charlotte and I looked at the boys, perplexed. "Exactly what did you guys do?" I asked.
"Revenge is sweet." Was all Calum said and we still didn't know who they pranked or what they did.

Ashton drove, since he was the only one who didn't have a drink, to somewhere I didn't recognize. We were at another building of the university, on the other side of campus.

Ashton did the same thing, taking the paper clip and bobby pin, wiggling them in the key hole, click, and we sneak in. There were lab tables and test tubes-indicating that it was a science laboratory- and waited for the boys to explain why we were here. Michael turned around "This is the room where the most boring professor teaches, we're gonna put some crickets in here so, when his class is sleeping while he's teaching, he'll get the hint that he's boring as fūck." He laughed with everyone.

Calum took a bag of crickets out of his pocket-well I see he came prepared-and dumped them around the classroom. We ran out quickly, so the crickets wouldn't travel to other rooms and turned to run.

"HEY! YOU KIDS! STOP RUNNING!" Screamed a janitor.

We ran out of the door and into Luke's car, Ashton speeding away. We ended up at a grassy area and sat down to relax after all the things we did throughout the night. I looked at the time which read 4:45 am man it was late, I sighed happily, it was Saturday tomorrow so, I could sleep.

I was sitting under a tree and I felt someone sit next to me. Luke plopped down beside me with a grin. "How are you enjoying yourself, babe?"
"I'm having a good time actually, I didn't think I would." I said smiling.
"Why wouldn't you, you're with us, and when you're with us, you always have a good time." He smirked at me and I smiled.

He looked at me and I sat there, admiring his blue eyes. They were such a pretty color and so beautiful. I was interrupted from my eye admiration by lips on mine. I froze in shock but I felt a comfortable warmth and leaned into the kiss. It wasn't like how movies describe it, fireworks and explosives, no-it felt more like a warm and fuzzy feeling in your stomach.

I liked it but it soon went away. I looked up to see Luke smiling at me and I mirrored his action. I was really enjoying tonight. Calum called us, "Alright, come on love birds, we're leaving!" And slid into the backseat with Mikey. Luke sat in the passenger seat and I sat with Cal and Mikey, in the back. Ashton drove us to the dorm buildings where we lived and parked the car. Calum and Michael said bye to us, giving us hugs. Luke looked down at me and smiled, hugging me, sneaking a soft kiss on my cheek. I blushed and said bye to Ash and Luke. Charlotte hugged Ashton and we walked to our dorm room.

Once inside we turned to each other, hugging because we were so happy. We pulled apart, changed into our pajamas and got into bed. I closed my eyes, smiling, happy with how things were going in my college life.
