"So Luke, tell me about your plans after college."

Three days after the dinner we had gone to the beach. I was walking on the shore while Luke was standing in the ocean, the water reaching to above his knees. I had the idea to push him. I walked close to him slowly, acting innocent and put as much force as I had and pushed him into the water. He yelled, grabbing on to me and I screamed, falling with him. When we went under, I opened my eyes and looked around. I looked over at Luke and he smiled. We both came up from under the water laughing.

"You're going to pay for that." He said, smiling. "You can try but, you won't be able to catch me." I said, starting to run as quickly as possible in the water. The water was pushing me, making it difficult to move as fast as I wanted to. I felt Luke's arms around my waist and suddenly I was in the air. "Put me down!" I shrieked, laughing. "You want me to put you down? Okay." He said nonchalantly and dropped me into the water.

I swam up, glaring at him and then splashed him in the face. "I love you!" I said teasingly while swimming away from him, back to shore.

The sun was setting and it was getting dark. I got a towel and dried off, putting my shorts on over my swimsuit bottom and a shirt over my top. I turned around to Luke to tell him we should go to dinner and he was about to say something when a nasally, high pitched voice that resembled a dying chihuahua said, "Oh my god, Luke! I didn't expect to see you here!"

We turned around and standing there was a red haired girl, who had the most poorly done fake tan I'd ever seen. She walked up to Luke, swinging her hips and put a hand on his arm. If she gets any closer I'm pushing her into the sea.

"Amber, what are you doing here?" Luke asks, looking slightly uncomfortable. "I moved here from New York. Remember those times we had in NY," she giggled obnoxiously, "you were so wild, I miss those days. We should go somewhere right now." She said, batting her false eyelashes. "There's this new club down the block, come with me." She was already pulling his wrist when he said, "Wait, I haven't introduced you to Ava yet." He looked at me pleadingly.

She turned to me with an unimpressed look, "Who are you?"
"I'm Luke's girlfriend." I said with a smirk. She looked at me with anger and said, "Whatever. Come on Luke lets go." He whispered to me, "I'm so sorry Av, tomorrow I'll take you out to dinner." He held my hand as we walked over to the club. Would it be frowned upon if I threw Amber onto hard concrete?

The club was loud even from the outside. I looked up at the fluorescent sign above the entrance, Essence Nightclub. We walked and I was immediately hit with hot and heavy air. Dear God, please let me survive this, I'm new at nightclubs and drinking so please have mercy.

Amber took us to the bar and started ordering shots. I had never done shots so this was something new. The bartender gave us our drinks and Amber immediately tipped the small glass, drinking the alcohol in one gulp. Luke did the same but more reluctantly. I was left, still looking at my glass. Amber said, "If you don't want to drink it then I'll just go with Luke to drink some more."

No way is that happening. "Fine! I'll drink, I'll drink. I hesitated, picking up the drink and glancing at Luke. He gave me a nod, "You can do it, babe." I smirked at Amber's reaction and drank it. It was definitely something new. My throat burned and I was met with the horrible taste of alcohol. I masked my disgust with a blank face and looked straight into Amber's eyes, "Bring on the next round." She made a noise in frustration but ordered more.

The night progressed and I drank one more and stopped. I didn't want to get drunk because I still had to keep an eye on Amber. I went to sit at a table where I could still see them but I didn't want to deal with Amber telling me "I'm too much of a baby to drink more."

I was looking at the menu in hopes to order some food because I am definitely not going to be dragged into a place that I don't want to be and not have food. I was looking at the menu until someone sat in front of me. I looked up and it was a boy with short brunette hair. "Hey, why are you sitting here alone?" I nodded my head to Luke and Amber who were now laughing hysterically and said, "That girl stole my boyfriend for the night." I rolled my eyes and looked back to him. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Nathan, by the way."
"Ava." He smiled and said, "So, what looks good here.", picking up a menu.

It's going to be a long night so might as well make a friend.
