Everything's great, I have all my credentials for my classes, I'm on top of my school work, I have my best friend and my boyfriend. How can anything go wrong?

I was visiting my parents back home. It was weird to see my room. This is my room, the one I grew up in, the one with all my memories. It sometimes feels unnatural to know I have two rooms. One holding all my childhood memories and the other holding my future.
I was excited to walk around the old familiar roads and see all the people who I've known since I was a baby. Living in the suburbs of Los Angeles, there were a lot of people on our street whom we all knew and loved. We're like a small community.
I had just put my suitcase down when I heard my mother call me to the kitchen. I told her about Luke over the phone and I'm more than sure she wants to know all about him.
"So, what's he like?" She asked, both excited and also testing to see if he was a good influence.
"He's really sweet and he cares about me, I promise you, he's great." I smiled, taking an apple from a bowl near me.
"I need to meet him but he sounds lovely. I want to speak with him over dinner, you should invite him sometime to come here." I agreed with my mom and went upstairs.
I walked into my room and took bites out of my apple. I got a call and looked at my phone. Luke was calling, I felt a wave of anxious nerves and overwhelming happiness come over me. I hesitated but answered, hearing his voice gave me a certain comfort.
"How are you doing there in LA, did you have a good flight? How are your parents?", he paused, taking in a breath, "I miss you, Av."
"I'm doing alright, don't be worried. Yes, I had a safe trip, everything was fine on the plane. My parents are doing great, I'm really happy to see them." I answered all his questions, trying to calm him down. "I miss you, Luke."
We spoke on the phone for hours. Hearing Luke's voice ramble on about what it's like at his house and seeing his brothers again, his memories, and stories about his childhood made me smile even more. Imagining a little Luke running around with his two older brothers in their backyard and teasing each other made me feel almost nostalgic, even though they aren't my memories.
"I don't know", Luke yawned, "I really like pasta but pizza is also amazing." We had been talking about our views on food for a while now. We had talked about everything possible to speak about. It was late so it wasn't the most intellectual conversation two college kids could talk about.
I was so tired that I began zoning out. "Ava? Av, did you hear what I said?"
"What? Sorry, I'm really tired. I think we should go to sleep now."
"Okay, I'll talk to you tomorrow. I love you, Ava. Sweet dreams, love." Luke's sleepy voice buzzed through the receiver.
"Bye, I love you Lukey. Have a good night, talk to you tomorrow." I smiled and hung up.
I was sprawled out on my bed, staring up at the sealing with a permanent grin on my face. I looked out the window and admired the night sky, stars twinkled as far as the eye could see. My parents house was away from the city lights so you could see the stars a bit clearer.
I closed my eyes and slept relaxed and happy. Little did I know, there was a lot of stress and unhappiness coming my way.
