My thumb clicks the bright red decline button again for the 2nd time that afternoon.
"Was that Summer?", Ivy asks her usual bubbly mood now down and depressed.
I nod softly my eyes casting towards the ground tears threatening to fall from them.
I just wanted to look into her hazel honey eyes while she stared right back into my evergreen.
Me, Rami, Ivy, Nolan, Mikey, and Jay were all at my uncle's gym thinking of any and every way to somehow catch the loser who's been sending threats to us warning us to stay away from Summer.
I just want her to be ok no matter what happens.
"Guys what should we do we're seriously running out of time I don't want her to feel isolated for too long", Nolan says panicked.
"Why don't we somehow track them and go to the police", Mikey suggests.
"No! going to the police is like stepping into a field of land mines", I say my hands still roughly running through my hair.
I was going crazy but it would all be worth it in the end if she's safe.
"Kai's right but we have to do something", Jay says worried and most likely hating the state I was in.
Throughout this whole process, my number one suspect has yet to cross my mind
"Is there any way we can visit her secretly there's no way they could be having us under surveillance every second of the damn day", Jay suggests.
"Yeah like a cryptic message or even a text", Nolan adds.
"Can we even risk that though, we don't know how many of them there are or the extent of their intel, I mean how did they even get Kai's number", Mikey says scrambling my train of thought even more.
"Who knows what would happen if they get triggered seeing us with her and then do something to her when she's alone", Rami says her voice breaking.
When she's alone
My heart drops and my blood runs cold...wait what if
What if this is what they wanted?
My mind suddenly goes back to the previous calls I had about 10 minutes ago and it's like all the color in my body begins to drain
Kai
Kai
"What's wrong," Jay says
"Kai man are you good". Mikey adds.
The gut feeling I have can't be wrong and I feel like a bottomless pit is starting to form.
Everything starts to blur and I scramble for my keys.
