2 Months later (May 19)

I fix the royal blue graduation cap on my head and double-check how my makeup looks on my phone while the announcer continues to loudly call out the names of our class.

Everything about this feels too good to be true like a means to end the waking up from a nightmare.

my nerves are neverending and I almost feel the intense need to throw up although in a good way if that makes sense. There's never really a good way to throw up but I knew that I was about to attempt to overcome a huge hurdle that I wasn't sure was ever possible for me.

If you had told me a year ago that my family would be together united watching me graduate with a loving boyfriend by my side and a secure tight nit group of friends I would've said your downright fucking insane.

but here I am the summer-like sun shining down on my face and graduating with honors.

since I and Kai's last names both begin with a B were in the same row but still so far from each other considering the size of this damn school.

I look back at him from beside the stage and he jokingly reaches for me making me laugh in amusement.

my heart beats as it reaches my name and turn to be called.

I can't help but wonder if my cheers will be loud, low, or practically non-existent. I knew most of the school knew of my story although I had a feeling the cheers would come from either a place of guilt of what happened to me or genuine admiration.

Finally, the moment comes as I approach the stairs and the speaker begins to say my name my heart beating in my chest.

"SUMMER BLAKE"

I walk over to the assistant principal of our school while he brightly smiles at me and hands me my diploma.

We then proceed to take a photo together in front of everyone and that's when I really register the noise.

the crowd erupts with cheers and I feel a sense of relief and strong emotion. I don't even care how loud the crowd is because from here I can see my mom, Dillain, Elise, Killian, Diane, and Derek all chanting my name and jumping. To the right of them, I also catch sight of my Jay, Ivy, and Rami who are cheering for me while also waiting for their names to get called.

Nolan and Mikey were also able to arrive and cheer for me in the crowd since their school graduation was a few days before and not on the same day.

Although out of all the cheers, one manages to stand out the most.

Kai steps out from the line behind me and manages to step out of it yelling and shouting despite the teachers demanding he go back.

The teachers frown due to how his solely stepping out of the line ruined all the rehearsals we did for this big day but Kai doesn't seem to give a fuck.
