The music blasts and I can feel the bass drums echo throughout my whole body as Mikey, Nolan, Ivy, Rami, Jay, Kai and I dance to some songs.
The flashing blue and green lights hit just right, the spring theme with fancy vibrant flowers made the gym look like a ballroom, the food and drinks were delicious, and there was an amazing variety of desserts.
The night couldn't be more perfect and whoever the DJ was he was worth any price they dropped to get him
since we were late according to Jay the good music, had just begun as more people flocked in so arriving at the ball like Cinderella was worth it despite bitter clueless men like Kai who doubted my knowledge.
It had been a while since we arrived and Kai was still not talking to me, that dumbass was still mad because I ignored him the whole car ride after finding out he stole my phone.
regardless I still caught him glancing at me when I did polite body rolls or any slightly risque dance move.
Everyone else just laughed at him when they asked why we weren't speaking, I mean he screwed himself over by touching something as precious as my phone. It was like the moment where a guy steals a girl's phone because he likes her but somehow worse and 10x more sneaky.
I observe everyone while the music plays loving how together we feel. Ivy is next to Mikey and they still seem to be extremely nervous around each other, Jay is here on a date with one of his recent hookups Brooklyn, a beautiful dark skin girl with glass skin and curves to die for although I feel they both want more, Rami seems to be enjoying the single life, and lastly, Nolan is having a time with his boyfriend who we recently just found out existed.
Nolan was bi but it looked like he wasn't switching sides any time soon. They were both locked in by the looks of it.
"Nolan your boyfriend has moves", I say pointing out an observation of the likely pair dancing in our circle.
His boyfriend James who we met tonight has to be one of the most timid yet polite people I've ever met so I'm shocked to see the dance floor already pulling him out of his shell around us.
"Right, did you see the thing he did with his leg", Jay adds laughing the rest of us joining in.
James shyly laughs while Nolan bumps him at the hip
"I know he might even rub off on me too", Nolan says proudly.
"With your two left feet? not even a chance ", Kai says making Nolan freeze his mouth drops in shock as everyone laughs.
Everyone but me at least. despite how much I want to laugh I know what game Kai's playing and I can play it much worse.
If he wants to ignore me I'll pretend everything he does never even happened.
He notices this immediately and glares at me with an amusing glint in his eyes. I smirk at him before turning to the rest of the group continuing to engage in small conversation.
