Chapter 30: Angel, I'm Sorry
Damon

"The person you are trying to reach is not available right now, please leave a message after the beep or hang up," the automated voice messenger said.

I cussed under my breath after another unsuccessful attempt of calling Nevaeh. She has not answered any of my calls or responded to any of my messages. Though I deserved it, I needed her to answer her phone.

I needed to know where her mind was at. I needed to know she was not killing herself over this. I could imagine how hard it was to digest that who you were was not exactly who you thought you were.
I sped my car as fast as I could down the highway and roads to reach Nevaeh's home. The cottage house seemed dimmed and eerie this deep in the night. There was barely light coming from the windows. There was only a faint light in one of the windows.

Someone was home.

I jumped out of the car, slamming the door due to the adrenaline. I rang the bell and within seconds, Teresa opened the door with red puffy eyes.
The lady actually broke. She didn't hold up the wall she had tirelessly built. While it may be good to know she had emotions, I could shake this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. That something was wrong. Something was wrong. Neveah found out about her true identity in a way none of us wanted. Nevaeh was not answering any of my calls. And her mother crying her eyes out.

Nevaeh was here. She came and unleashed hell that was buried over snow. And I knew it ended badly.

"She's gone," Teresa said, wiping the tears off her eyes. "I don't know if she will be back. We had a big fight. She knew before I'd even get to tell her."
"When did she leave?" I asked as calmly as I could but I could feel more core rattling.

"About twenty minutes ago. She took off with her car."

She took off with the car. I had not seen Nevaeh drive since she has been back. And the fact she was in the accident with her friend, I could imagine how badly she wanted to go away.

Turned my heels away from Teresa and started calling everyone I knew. I called a group of friends and none of them have heard from her.

I had been driving around the area and she was nowhere to be seen. It was like she did not want to be found. Nevaeh was just gone.

___________

It had been a few days since Nevaeh went missing. There was not much I could do. I told everyone to keep an eye. Even Lucien was looking out for Nevaeh. I felt completely horrible how this all played out. It wasn't supposed to be like that.
The only thing that was able to keep my mind of how fucked up everything was currently was Cade Romano. This was his doing. He shall pay. I was not the one to resort to violence but I was hesitant to kill him. This was the first person that I wanted their blood in my hands.

He ruined my girl's life and she didn't even do anything to him. She has no involvement with what happened to Christian. I knew it was to get back at me but he could have just dealt with me. Keep my friends out of it.

I feel like playing a dangerous game by getting Lucien to deal with him but I was trying to be better than that. I didn't want to ve like my father who just called someone to do his dirty work. If I wanted to kill Cade, I would do it myself even if that meant I would die in the process.

I spend the days trying to manage this company. There were several investors interested in hundreds of companies requesting security cameras, government officials were looking into the hidden cameras due to how small we make them. Even though my personal life was upside down, the business was doing well. I was wondering if that was Cade's next target. To destroy my company.
As I was in a meeting, where I should be following along with the proposal one of my employees was presenting. However, I was going through pictures of Nevaeh I was able to capture-- her during the auditions, her in Vermont, and her during the competition.
