Perhaps you were too beautiful to be mine,
A radiant star, that shone so divine.
I, a fragile soul, with scars so deep,
Was too wounded to be yours, in a love that would keep.

Your light was too bright, for my fragile heart,
A delicate petal, that would tear us apart.
I was lost in my shadows, unable to roam,
While you were soaring high, in a love that was your home.

We were two worlds apart, like night and day,
Our love a fleeting dream, that faded away.
Yet, in the memories, our hearts still entwine,
A bittersweet reminder, of a love so divine.

Perhaps we were two ships, passing in the night
Our paths collided, but our hearts weren't in sight
We were both searching, for a love to call home
But our timing was off, and we couldn't find our way back home

Your beauty was a sunrise, that lit up the sky
While I was still trapped, in a darkness that wouldn't die
I was trying to find my way, through the shadows and pain
But your love was a light, that I couldn't contain

We were two souls, with different destinies
Our love was a moment, that couldn't last in eternity
But in that brief encounter, our hearts did entwine
And I'll always remember, the love that we left behind

Perhaps we were two birds, with wings so free
But our flight paths differed, and we couldn't fly together, you see
We sang different melodies, in harmony so rare
But our symphony was brief, and we couldn't find our way back there

Your eyes were oceans deep, with secrets untold
While mine were stormy seas, with stories yet untold
We were two worlds colliding, in a love so true
But our universes were vast, and we couldn't find our way to you

We were two hearts beating, to different drummers' sound
Our love was a rhythm, that couldn't be found
We were two souls searching, for a love to call our own
But our paths diverged, like rivers flowing to different homes
