Alec

Smiling at the sight of two broken lost lovers reunite surrounded by the beautiful downpour of snow, I looked down to Lenora who was sleeping comfortably in my arms.

Like putting the last piece of a jigsaw in its place, it felt so good to see Arabella reunite with Leon. Although I wanted to tell her immediately, it had to be this way. It was the best way.

"Damn, if she don't stop you're going to have a little brother or sister sooner than we thought" I laughed to Lenora as things began to get heated outside.

Pulling out my phone, I dialled through to Arabella who slowly pulled away from Leon.

Even though it was incredibly cold outside, I couldn't help but smirk at the sight of Arabella's flushed rosy red cheeks.

"H-Hello?" she muttered quietly whilst attempting to compose her frantic breathing. Leon on the other hand was smirking at her whilst looking completely composed and in control.

It felt good to see him back to his usual cocky self. And I had no doubt that as soon as Arabella was rested and recovered, he'd have his way with her morning and night for days to make up for lost time.

"Doll, you shouldn't be standing, your wound is still healing and I don't want it to prolong your hospital stay" I muttered in a relatively stern tone, eager for her to understand the seriousness of the situation.

Arabella's shy glances at Leon who was smirking at her suddenly changed as she turned away from him and started looking around with a frown marring her beautiful face.

"How's about you explain why you didn't tell me about Leon! You had every opportunity to be honest, yet you lied to my face knowing how hurt I was about the"-

"OW!" Arabella suddenly cried as a Leon smacked his hand against her ass.

"Watch that tone of yours, little girl or I'll re-educate you on what happens when you disrespect Alec and I" I could hear Leon warn Arabella in a stern tone.

I wasn't pleased Leon had shut her frustration down with the threat of discipline. I wanted to respond and admit it probably wasn't a good idea. But I had my reasons, one of which was because Leon wanted to do it himself.

I would make sure to explain my reasons to her at a later time without Leon being present.

"I um, I'm sorry" Arabella mumbled quietly knowing she had no other option than to apologise under Leon's tense body language.

"It's okay, doll. But please, sit down before you hurt yourself" I pleaded as I kept my eyes pinned on her lower abdomen to make sure she wasn't bleeding from the C section wound.

"Okay, I love you" she replied as she looked over at the wheelchair.

"Love you too" I responded before waiting for her to hang up the phone call.

Slipping my phone back into my back pocket, I looked down at my sleeping angel and smiled. She may be growing and getting stronger, but she was still small enough for me to cradle her securely in one arm.

Turning away from the window, I walked over to the armchair and sat down carefully to ensure I did not disturb my baby girl.

"Mr Boewen?".

Looking to the door, I stared at the man wearing dark blue scrubs with a couple of other younger looking people behind him, also wearing scrubs.

"My name is Dr Howarth, I'm one of the consultants on the NICU ward. How are you and Lenora doing?" he smiled as he took the Ipad tablet from one of the people behind him.
