The week before Christmas went by quickly, without Siyeon noticing. It only clicked with her when she got the message from Bora that she was inviting her over for Christmas night, to spend it with her and Gahyun.
She hadn't even thought of gifts, yet, which didn't sound like the best situation.
So, since her shift was short that morning, she went for presents right after finishing work.
But what would she get the woman who has been stealing her heart without it being awkward? And she would have to get a gift for Gahyun as well, no?
It had been a while since she got put in a situation where she needed to get a gift, so she was probably going to be a grandma and get the worst thing possible.
After a few hours of searching for the right ones, she settled for something she thought would be special. It was nothing fancy, but she knew, or at least hoped, that they would like them.
She made the worker in the store wrap them and put them next to her in the car, driving towards their apartment this time.
As Bora mentioned, they had a tradition of decorating the Christmas tree right before the day, so she also hoped she wouldn't demolish the whole thing by participating. She wasn't the best when it came to decorating.
With a tiny heart, the surgeon knocked on the door of the apartment, knowing that today was an important moment. You wouldn't spend Christmas with just anyone. She was already lucky enough that her shifts gave her the evening off, Yoohyeon and Minji weren't as lucky for example. They had to work on this holiday. Whole night of Christmas.
Gahyun was the one opening the door, wearing a headband with two small Christmas trees on the sides. She had a big smile on her face as she let the surgeon in, and led her towards the living room where Bora was busy trying to reach for the top side of the tree.
"Siyeon is here" the younger sister announced, the message startling Bora a little which almost caused her to fall on top of the tree. That would have been a waste of hours of hard work already.
Although, she laughed it off and rushed to the blonde woman, who smoothly wrapped her arms around her and gave her a kiss.
Gahyun rolled her eyes jokingly at them and walked back to the tree, taking another decoration and searching for its place.
"It's nice to see you... you look good" The surgeon went for a smooth compliment, seeing the red outfit Bora had put on to fit the Christmas theme. It made her once again regret her own clothing choice, being just one of her casual outfits.
Bora smiled and instead of a thank you, gave her another kiss. It felt new but really nice, being able to casually kiss like this, without the nerves playing the biggest part in it.
The brunette woman then took a hold of her hand and pulled her towards the half-way decorated tree, "Come help us, we have a few hours before midnight"
Their tradition was a really cute one, one that would definitely make time for bonding. It just wasn't what Siyeon was used to. In her family, they always had a small tree with a few simple lights and that was it. Doing this however, felt more like a family tradition. "How about... I put this on there?" The blonde casually put the star on top, being the tallest of the three.
Gahyun suddenly laughed, pointing her finger at Bora and confusing the surgeon, but then she explained. "It was Bora's turn to do that this year, we take turns every year. Although, our tree has become taller this time, I'm sure she wouldn't even be able to reach it"
Bora gave her a glare but shook her head with a small smile afterwards, turning to Siyeon. "Don't worry, you're a new addition to our small family this year. It's fair for you to take the role this Christmas" Her voice was genuine.
