After hanging up the call with her girlfriend, Siyeon couldn't help but smile. That seemed to be a common occurrence every time she called or talked with Bora. In her mind, she repeatedly called her girlfriend, honestly not believing that she managed to find a partner again with her backstory. She was so incredibly proud of Bora, wanting to share her happiness with everyone... but her personality held her back from doing that.

She was still a shy person with people she didn't really know, so the happiness would only be shared with those in her inner circle.

Slowly but surely, she had already got used to working here, in this hospital. She got used to the hectic hours, sometimes too many patients and too much work as well, but she wouldn't change anything. It wasn't like she couldn't deal with it. And having Minji as the chief was probably the best outcome for every little thing she did in her career before this day.

Having finished one of the easy surgeries of the day, she was sitting in the break room, scrolling on her phone after the call with Bora. She was about to get up and go to the board to check if there was anything else she had to do today or if she could just go home, when she got another phone call.

Her face lit up again, though not in the same way as when Bora would call. She tapped on the accept button, placing the phone next to her ear. "Hi, mom" It had honestly been a while since she heard from her mother.

"Hi, Siyeon. How are you?" Her mother's voice was calm. Siyeon guessed she probably just returned home from work, having a glass of wine on the couch, as she usually does. She couldn't guess if she was calling for no reason or if she wanted to ask something, though. Her mom is probably the one from whom she got this personality. She doesn't like to talk much.

"I'm fine, busy." The surgeon responded, knowing that she would probably like that answer. Her parents had always pushed her to do the best she could with her life. "Had an easy surgery today"

"That's good to hear," Her mom said simply, making a pause before continuing. "It's been a few months since you moved there, have you thought of visiting for a bit? I mean, I honestly thought you would find time for Christmas, at least"

Normally, she would've had time... but Bora had kind of taken that spot. The girlfriend her mother did not yet know about. But was now the right time to tell her about her? "Christmas was a very... busy period. But I am planning on visiting sometime, of course"

"Good, there are some things I need your help with around here." She said, and Siyeon fought back a chuckle. That's probably a way for her mom to say she misses her. "Do you know when that sometime would be? I need to know beforehand, so that I don't plan anything too time-consuming at work"

With her schedule at the hospital, that was honestly very hard to determine. Her job kind of demanded a certain amount of availability. "I'd have to talk with my chief, Mom" A little sigh accompanied her words, feeling a little bad she couldn't give a proper answer. "But... you could always come over here?"

A little pause again, before her mom sighed. "Oh, I don't know, Siyeon. You know how I am about sleeping somewhere else" That bit was true. Her mom always had this odd dependence on their house, and she has this specific need for bedsheets and everything else she needs to sleep peacefully. Before Siyeon would answer, though, she continued. "But I'll think about it. It would be better for you to come here, but if that's not possible, yet, then we'll think of something"

"It's possible but-..." Should she just tell her? The planning wasn't the only part that would make visiting a little harder. "There is, uhm... someone I would like you to meet here" Keeping it vague like that would still give her an excuse to not talk about a girlfriend.
