T/W - Mentions of dr*gs

_

The first week of college was going well, Gahyun started to get to know a few other students on her course, but there was still no one she could call a friend, yet. Well, it only had been a few days, so that was perfectly fine. She already got the gist of what each subject would be like, and she was excited to see what each professor had to give.

On one particular Wednesday, she got to the class exactly on time, walking in the classroom right after the professor. Holding the notebook Siyeon gifted her for Christmas to her chest, she made her way to her seat and breathed out a sigh of relief when she realized she wasn't late.

With how recent classes had been that meant she could take enough notes during her lesson. These lessons about criminology actually gained her attention very easily because the professor always talked about a few local gangs he had investigated. From how they explained it, the gang didn't sound too dangerous but Gahyun knew better. Any person involved with drugs was dangerous.

Everyone seemed to be a bit taken aback when he started talking about this in the first week of starting, but this subject was towards practical teaching in general, so it shouldn't have been considered weird. Gahyun, on the other hand, was always eager to hear more. And especially today, when the professor shared more information about the matter.

The activities of one of the local gangs did match up with some of the things she had been breaking her head over. Even more so when it came to her parents.

"So, I believe everyone remembers the topic we discussed last week. Very briefly, but just so it's clear, we'll have to go deeper into the case, so expect me to talk about it more from now on;" The man started explaining, putting down the journal he had been holding and sitting down on the chair as well. "The so-called 'gang' that we mentioned, well, I'm sure almost all of you have, uh, a group of adults, maybe, in mind. But in this case, we have to deal with mostly teenagers"

Gahyun didn't have anyone in mind but she did want someone she could discuss with to find out about the inner workings. So after the lessons, she approached the teacher. "Is it necessary that we know someone who could talk from experience?"

He looked up from his desk, looking at Gahyun for a few seconds before answering, probably remembering her name. "Necessary? Not at all. Your only job here will be listening to the information which I can give, and try to find a solution by using some of the given texts" He said, but before Gahyun could nod and walk away, he added. "I remember you were just as interested in this case the last time I mentioned it. Eager to learn, or?" He smiled.

Gahyun nodded her head, not yet wanting to reveal why she was so interested in the case. It was best to hide her true intentions until the end. "I'm just interested in your perspective since you said you had the chance to talk to some of the members" Surely he would have some valuable information.

"Ah, right. Well, I chose to showcase this case in the semester because it is one of those that I have studied the most. And have the experience in. It is only an academic choice, I'd say." He said and stood up from the desk, collecting his stuff, as Gahyun noticed the classroom was already empty.

Still, the case meant a lot to her. A lot more than anyone would think it did. Since last time Gahyun had done some research and found out most of the members were people who had been in an orphanage just like she and Bora had been at one of those. Since those women could've been them, Gahyun wished to know more about their life stories.

She knew how horrible the treatment could be there, and wouldn't say she hadn't thought about escaping as well. But she had Bora, and those who did run away in the end probably didn't have anyone else. The thing she wants to know the most now, is how that gang came to life and what exactly it is that's going on in there.
