Jules felt a slight nervousness building up inside her. She had trained with Todoroki before at UA, but this time felt different. There was something unspoken between them, something heavy, and she wasn't entirely sure what it was.

She exhaled softly, adjusting her bag on her shoulder as she stood at the door. Shoto had invited her to train, but she could tell it was about more than that. Over the past few weeks, she had spent a lot of time with Pietro, and while it was all innocent, she noticed the way Shoto's eyes would darken whenever Pietro was near. Jules wasn't blind to it—she knew Shoto was jealous, even if he didn't say it outright.

The door slid open, revealing Shoto standing there, his face as calm and unreadable as always. "You're here," he said, stepping aside to let her in.

"Yeah, sorry I'm late," Jules replied with a small smile, stepping into the house.

"It's fine," he said quietly, leading her to the training area. "I've already set everything up."

They didn't waste much time with pleasantries. Almost immediately, they began training, both of them focused as they sparred. Shoto was serious, as usual, his ice blending effortlessly as he pushed Jules to her limits. Jules, for her part, was doing her best to keep up. She could feel the Phoenix Force stirring beneath the surface, always there but never fully unleashed. She had learned to control it, but sometimes it felt like it had a mind of its own.

As they fought, Jules noticed that Shoto seemed more intense than usual. His movements were sharper, his attacks harder. It was almost as if he was trying to prove something, though she couldn't quite figure out what. Maybe it was the jealousy. Maybe it was something else.

"Again," Shoto said after she had managed to dodge one of his ice attacks, his voice clipped.

Jules nodded, wiping the sweat from her forehead. "You sure you don't need a break?"

"I'm fine," he replied, but there was a tension in his voice.

They continued for another hour before finally stopping. Both of them were drenched in sweat, their breathing heavy. Jules sat down on the edge of the mat, stretching out her legs, while Shoto stood nearby, his back to her as he caught his breath.

After a few moments of silence, Jules broke it. "You're pushing yourself pretty hard today," she said, her voice light but probing.

Shoto glanced at her, his two-toned eyes sharp. "I'm just training," he said simply.
