The match between Shoto Todoroki and Izuku Midoriya had escalated far beyond a simple tournament round—it was a clash of willpower, trauma, and destiny.
Next to her, Pietro Maximoff vibrated with restless energy, practically bouncing in his seat. "You seeing this?" he whispered, eyes wide. "Kid's got guts."
Jules nodded, though her jaw was tight. Guts were good—until they got you killed.
Boom!
The ground trembled as Todoroki unleashed another brutal wave of ice, forcing Midoriya to counter with a devastating blast from his broken arm. The sheer force of the collision sent shockwaves through the air, whipping at their hair and clothing.
"Midoriya's insane," Mina whispered, half in awe, half in horror. "His arm is shattered, and he's still fighting like that?"
"That guy's determination is... something else," Kirishima added, his fists clenched.
Jules barely heard them. Her eyes stayed glued to Todoroki—his face was twisted with pain and something far worse... hesitation. His right side, where the fire lay dormant, remained eerily untouched by battle scars. He was fighting with only half his strength, locked in a war with himself.
"Why isn't he using his flames?" Pietro asked, frowning. "The guy's holding back."
Jules clenched her fists. She knew exactly why. Todoroki's fire wasn't just power—it was a symbol of everything he hated about his father, Endeavor. She'd seen that same haunted look before—in the mirror, when she fought the Phoenix Force within her.
Then it happened.
CRASH!
Midoriya charged, pushing past his limits with reckless abandon. His shout rang through the arena like a battle cry. "IT'S YOUR POWER, NOT HIS!"
Todoroki froze, Midoriya's words cutting deeper than any injury.
Jules shot to her feet, her heart pounding. Pietro glanced up at her, startled. "Jules?"
She didn't answer. Her breath caught as flames sparked across Todoroki's right arm—faint, hesitant, then roaring to life in a fiery blaze. His ice shattered beneath the inferno as molten heat burst forth, illuminating the entire arena in searing orange and red.
"He did it," Jules whispered, equal parts relieved and terrified.
Pietro whistled low. "Talk about lighting up the competition."
