3rd Person POV:It was a sunny morning in Gravesfield this day. As the sun keeps rising slowly, a certain latina wakes up from her sleep. To most, especially at school, they wouldn't know this individual. But, she doesn't let that get to her as her love of magic surpasses any negative comment that can be made about her. This being Luz, Luz Noceda.
Though, this wasn't just no normal day for the kid.
It was actually her birthday.
Yep, she just turned 14 and she was ecstatic about it. So much so that the second that she woke up, she smiled brightly and ran into the bathroom to quickly get ready for the rest of the day. To say she was excited was an understatement. Not surprising though as this is one of her favorite times of the year.
It was already 9:00 AM so she knew that her mom, Camila Noceda, was already awake, as she normally is at this time because of work. But, since it was her birthday, her mom got work off and was able to spend all day with Luz. That being one of the main reasons she loves this day, becoming 1 year older is plus as well of course.
After Luz had taken her shower and brushed her teeth, she speed walked down the stairs of her house, excited for what surprise her mom has in store for her. Though, when she got downstairs she saw nothing. This confused Luz, but she decided to head into the kitchen to see if there was anything there.
Then, once she entered, Luz immediately heard the sound of a party popper. This surprised the young latina, even making her close her eyes for a second. But when she opened them again, she saw her mom with a big chocolate cake on the table.
"Happy Birthday, Mija!" Camila said loudly. Luz started to tear up, even if she had no friends, she at least had an amazing mother.
"Thank you so much Mamá!" The young latina then proceeded to hug her mother as she returned the favor.
"No problem, you know that I've got to go all out for my favorite daughter." Luz's mother said as she kissed her forehead.
"Mom, I'm your only daughter!" Luz responded with a chuckle. "Exactly!" Her mother started to chuckle with her daughter.
Then, Luz realized that there was also a gift on the table. Makes sense as the gift was behind the cake, making it out of sight of the latina when she first entered the room. "What's with you hiding the gift? You usually just give it normally." Luz asks, hoping for an answer.
"You'll have to see, wouldn't be a surprise if I just told you." Camila just smiled at her daughter.
"Yeah, that's fair." Luz sighed, guessing that it'd be awhile before the gift would be revealed.
"Anyways, ready to head into town to celebrate your birthday Mija?" Luz's mother asks as she grabs her purse.
"That sounds amazing! Let's goooooo!!!!" Luz jumps excitedly, heading towards the front door. Camila then opens the door for her daughter and closes it behind her, making sure to lock the door before they left to the car.
After that, the mother and daughter went all around town. What did they do? Nothing specific really. Whatever came their way is what they did. Some of these activates included them going out to eat, going to the arcade, checking out the museum, and even going to the book store to get Luz a new Azura book.
"Wait, plot twist, the gift was empty this whole time and this is my real gift!" Luz says proudly, feeling lol she just solved the biggest puzzle ever.
"As that would be a very good surprise, that isn't quite it. There is really something in that gift box you caught eye of, this is just something extra because it's your birthday." Camila explained as Luz's ego immediately deflated like a balloon.
