New Friends, New Beginnings

3rd Person POV:

Picking up from last time, our hero, Luz Noceda, just started her journey to beat the gym challenge. She had just made it to Route 1 and her, along with Eevee by her side, started making their way through the same pathway that they went on her first day here. Though, instead of going just for a walk, they were going through to get to the first gym in Callabrook City, where the Plant Coven Gym resides.

The day before Luz left, Eda had told her that it would've been the best gym to start out with and that it was only 2 Routes away from the lab. So Luz already had a good idea as to where they were going. At least, she hoped she did.

"Alright Eevee, this the first day of our epic awesome journey, let's make it a good one alright!" Luz said as Eevee responds with happy noises. The two clearly excited to finally be able to start their journey. "Okay, so we'll probably need more Pokémon if we want to have a chance to beat the gym challenge, no offense. So, you want to just try and catch some new Pokémon today, Eevee?" Luz asks her Pokémon as it jumps up and down.

"Eevee Vee!" The partner Pokémon responds, signaling that she agrees with the latina.

"Alright, let's set up camp here then and go out to find some Pokémon after. Good thing Eda included some camping gear in my backpack." Luz says as she comes to a halt and deviates off the path slightly to set up camp. She silently thanks her mom for sending her to that one survival camp when she was young since it helped out a lot. Eevee even helped out a bit by getting firewood for later as well as helping set up the tent as much as possible.

Eventually, the two had finished setting up camp. "Alright, that should be everything. You ready to catch some new Pokémon Eevee?" The latina asks as she looks down at her Pokémon.

"Eev Vee Vee." Eevee said with excitement clearly coursing throughout her voice.

"Alright, let's see what we can find then!" Luz says as the two run into the forest, Eevee jumping back onto Luz's head.

As the two made it further into the forest, they slowed down a tad bit as to not scare any Pokémon in the area. While they walked around, they saw many Pokémon who inhabited the area. The Caterpie and Weedle's squirming around on the trees, the Pidgey, Tailow, and Starly's flying throughout the air, and even Zigzagoon and Bunnelby's on the floor as they search for food. To Luz, it was pretty majestic to see all these creatures that she had dreamed about for so long be right in front of her and how they interacted with their environment.

Though, it also felt weird to her. That she adjusted so quickly to this world. I mean, sure she has loved this franchise for so long and the human world wasn't the most...... forgiving at times. But it just felt strange how she just instantly fit in. Though, this place did bring a sense of a joy that she has never felt without her mom before. That brought a smile to the latina's face as she looked up at Eevee on her head.

Suddenly, a noise similar to bushes shaking came from the left of them. This instantly made Luz and Eevee's attention go towards the thing that had made the noise. What they saw was, what looked to be, a wild Zorua. "Woah! I've never seen that Pokémon before. Good thing I've got a Rotom Phone to help with this."

Luz then pulls out her Rotom Phone and uses the Pokédex feature to figure out what the Pokémon in front of her was. "Zorua, the Tricky Fox Pokémon. A dark type. To protect themselves from danger, they hide their true identities by transforming into people and Pokémon."

When Luz looked up, Zorua seemed to be barking. But not in an aggressive way, but more in a playful one. Like it wanted to just play around or something.

"Awwww, you're the second most adorable Pokémon I've seen here. Eevee of course number one." Luz says as Eevee takes a couple steps forward to Zorua.

It seemed to say hello to the other Pokémon and in response Zorua just barked before shining. "What the-" Luz was then cut off as Zorua turned into an exact duplicate of Eevee which surprised the original one. "So cool! The Pokédex was right after all. Can you transform into more things?" As Luz says this, Zorua turns back to normal.
