Luz POV:

It's been about a day or two since the incident with that Trevenant. We were about one more day away from Callabrook City and while I was excited, I still couldn't just shrug off the slight tension that was building up.

It's not like me and Gus stopped talking or anything. We actually still continued to talk a lot and have fun these last two days. But I just couldn't shake the image of the owl person out of my head and it seemed that Gus couldn't either with him spacing out from time to time. I didn't want to talk about it, not because I was scared of Gus getting mad or anything like that, more of that I just didn't know what to say about it as I still don't really know what really happened.

After the incident, I made sure to call Eda and tell her about our second encounter with a giant Pokémon with a glowing blue eye. She told me how the Syther that she had caught was doing better now as, yes it did try to attack early on, but eventually was able to calm down and get used to the professor. This made the Pokémon shrink to normal size and even turn its eye color back to normal, or that's at least what Eda said as she couldn't show Syther because of him playing with Hooty and Marowak at the moment. The image of that in my head looked so adorable, but I snapped out of it and got back to the task at hand here.

She then said how it seems like these Pokémon might've been infected by something that had made them turn so big as well as causing their eyes to glow blue. But it also seemed like with someone claiming them down, they revert back to their normal forms, as if nothing ever happened. I just remember nodding to what she was saying before she said that she had to go and to stay safe which I promised to do before hanging up.

Now back to present day, me and Gus were sitting down on a big rock while eating some sandwiches since we needed a break from walking so much. Thankfully, Eevee and the rest of our Pokémon were able to rest up in their Poké Balls that day and now are back outside of them, even if Eevee took a bit longer due to it deciding to stay outside of its Poké Ball. Eevee and Zorua were chasing each other in circles as they already finished their food while Rowlet was still eating, watching the other two play. Quite an adorable sight if you asked me.

I then decided to end the awkward silence between me and Gus at the moment with a fake cough. "Soooooo, has something like that ever happened before. You know, the owl like guy we saw a couple days ago." I awkwardly ask as I tap my finger up and down on my leg.

"Honestly, not at all. These past few days I've just had questions from what happened. Like, what was that Poké Ball he had, or what he meant by being back to head quarters, OR WHY HE WAS FRICKIN SCARY-" I then stopped Gus from rambling a she looked like he was about to run out of breath if he continued.

"Deep breaths Gus. Let's just not think about it and if we do see that person again, we'll just simply destroy them in a Pokémon battle." My confident sounding sentence made Gus smile as he nodded in response.

"Yeah, anyways we should probably head back on the road as we've all eaten-"

We then all heard a sound that sounded like... something hitting a rock?

3rd Person POV:

Once the group noticed the sound, it didn't take long for another one to come. Soon, it was happening every couple seconds which immediately caught the interest of everyone. "Should we go check it out?" Luz asked the boy.

"Heck yeah we should! We're already so close to Callabrook City, we got time for a small detour." Gus says excitedly as he goes towards the direction the sound is coming from, Zorua following right next to him. Luz chuckled at the boys enthusiasm and quickly trailed behind him, Eevee jumping on the latina's shoulder while Rowlet sat on top of her head.
