Setting off on New Horizons

3rd Person POV:

It only took a couple of minutes for the two to reach the lab. From the outside, it look exactly like what Luz had remember seeing, a huge looking house with a big eye looking window. Not the expected look of a lab.

"Welcome to the Owl Lab." Eda said as she then opened the door to reveal somehow what look to be an even bigger interior. The second floor was visible from the first, there was a huge book shelf with many books, as well as an assortment of many human objects. Luz wondered where those came from, but doesn't question it too much.

Then, as Luz is walking in, she notices a Noctowl fly from upstairs and going towards Eda. "Oh my god, it's a Noctowl!" Luz says excitedly.

"Yep, this is my partner Pokémon. Though, Noctowl prefers to be called Hooty." Eda explains as she goes to grab some food for the Pokémon.

"That is so cool!" Luz says as she is just admiring the Pokémon. Once Eda found the food, she put a bit of it in a bowl for Noctowl to eat. Noctowl immediately went towards it and started eating out of the bowl, making happy hoot sounds in return.

Eda then started petting her partner Pokémon, feeling its soft feathers. She then notices Luz admiration for the Pokémon, realizing that this is the first Pokémon that she's ever seen in real life before. "Hey, how about you pet Hooty. His feathers are very soft you know." Eda then gestures for the latina to come closer.

Luz wasn't quite sure, but still proceeded to step closer to the two. Eventually, she is right in front of the currently eating Pokémon. She then crouches down to meet a similar height as it. Luz then starts to move her hand towards Noctowl.

After a little of hesitation, Luz starts petting Noctowl's head as the bird realizes this action. All it does in return is produce more happy hoots. This makes Luz smile from the adorableness of what was happening in front of her. "He's so adorable!" Luz exclaims as she continues to pet it before stopping to let it continue eating.

"I know right! You should see him when he hops around, it's the most adorable thing ever." Eda agrees as they both chuckle. "Oh, I almost forgot. I should probably tell you how you're even here in the first place." Eda then stands up and head towards the bookshelf, searching for a specific book. Luz follows and just sits on a nearby couch.

"Alright, this is gonna be a lot of info that I'm about to dump onto you. Are you ready?" Eda asks Luz, wanting to at least warn her first before possibly blowing Luz's mind with how crazy this might sound.

"I mean, I've already interacted with a real Pokémon. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine." Luz smiles as Noctowl flies over to the side of Luz, receiving more pets from her.

"Okay, so I'll just get this out of the way immediately. You're in another realm currently. When you played the 'game', it must've sent you to the real version of the world. That's why you were suddenly sent here." Eda explains as Luz listens to every word.

"I get that, but how did this happen? Also, how do I get back! As cool as this place is, if my mom figured out that I was sent to another realm, she'll go ballistic." Luz exclaims, not even wanting to know what her mom's reaction would be.

"Honestly, I don't really know how this could've happened. This, to my knowledge at least, has only happened one other time in history. But that was hundreds of years ago. There's no way they could still be alive now." Eda says as she continues to look through some books, just checking if she ever missed anything about the topic.

"That also brings up another question, how'd you get all this human stuff?" Luz asked as she was just so confused by this whole situation.

"Oh, these? From time to time, wormholes are opened between this realm and the human realm, and what they leave behind are an assortment of goodies that I take. That could actually be the reason how you got here as I'm not 100% sure if they can or cannot send a human through them." Eda says as everything starts to click in her brain.
