3rd Person POV:We pick right back off from last time where Willow Park, the gym leader of the Callabrook Gym, just sent out her Vileplume right after her Bulbasaur fainted due to Luz's Oshawott. Even though Luz had the numbers advantage with two Pokémon, Oshawott took a beating to Bulbasaur still. Meaning that the water type is pretty exhausted, though it wasn't going to give up yet.
Back to the fight at hand, the battle had just begun with both Luz and Willow ready to give it there all. "Just like last time, you can have the first move." Willow says as she was confident that her strongest Pokémon would be able to win her the entire battle.
"Alright, if you insist. Oshawott, dash towards Vileplume and use Razor Shell!" Luz commands as her Pokémon gets straight to it, running as fast as it can towards Vileplume as it took off its scalchop from its stomach. This, like usual, caused a blue blade to emerge from it, though it was still longer than it normally is due to the rain still being set up.
"Vileplume, use Venoshock!" The grass and poison type agrees with its trainer as it releases multiple purple beams out of the middle of its petals. These same purple beams head straight towards Oshawott, though this didn't scare neither Luz nor Oshawott.
If anything, it seemed to just make the two more confident. "Oshawott, take care of that Venoshock by just hitting the beams one by one." The latina says as her otter nodded, hitting each of the purple beams that headed straight towards it with little to no effort thanks to the boost from the rain.
Eventually, Oshawott was able to destroy all of the Venoshock beams with ease as it finally got in front of Vileplume. Being so close, it was no wonder that the otter was able to get a direct slash on the grass and poison types face. Though, surprisingly, it didn't look like it was even trying to dodge in the first place.
This confused Luz and Oshawott, but what happened next suddenly made everything make sense. "Now, grab Oshawott with your petals." The flower loving witch commanded as her Pokémon bends down slightly and submerges the water type inside of its petals.
(Think of it like the battle with Professor Kukui and Ash when Venasaur trapped Rowlet inside of its flower. Just thought I'd give this example just in case people didn't get it lol.)
"Oshawott! Get out of there quick!" Luz said, but as much as her Pokémon struggled to get its way out, it was no use as it just wasn't able to. Even trying to attack from the inside with its Razor Shell still in play didn't work as it first of all wasn't very effective in the first place, but the boost it got from the rain was gone because of it not being able to hit the otter while inside the petals. Though it did seem to make Vileplume wince slightly.
"Alright, now use Giga Drain!" Willow asked of her partner as they obliged to the plan, a huge green glow appearing from within the petals as Oshawott's energy is being slowly drained. Eventually, the otter was released and sent back to its side of the field, but it looked like one more big attack would finish it off.
Vileplume on the other hand looked as if it was just sent out, this confusing the latina. The gym leader, seeing the confused expression on her opponents face, decides to let her know what had just happened. "You see, Giga Drain is a move where, when attacking the target, drains there energy while replenishing the users. Meaning that the damage you did at the start was for nothing." The dark navy-blue haired witch explains as everything now made sense to Luz.
"Huh, well we aren't going to let that finish us off." Luz states, but not as confident as before which is something the gym leader noticed.
"Well then, Vileplume, use Poison Powder." The grass and poison type nods as it suddenly releases poison toxins from the middle of its petals, heading straight towards the water type.
