Natsu POV

I felt like a loser.

I watched my best friend from a distance, the whole day today.

I can't even greet her.

I'm aching to hug and kiss her.

Even holding her hands would suffice this urge.

But I can't.

Not yet.

I have to give her time.

I don't even have the courage to walk to her.

I looked at her longingly.

I'm glad she's wearing her normal outfit this time.

I watched guys going up to her asking to date her.

She'd just reject them, flatly.

That's my girl!

Ehem.

Not yet, anyways.

I wouldn't give up this girl.

I really hope that she likes me too.

I didn't know what came over me, when I confessed to her.

I guess, I couldn't hold it back anymore.

I was debating whether to risk our friendship or being just a best friend forever.

Using my peripheral vision, I'd sometimes see her glancing towards me and that was more than enough to make me smile.

Assuming.

I know.

Can't help it.

I have this feeling that she misses me too.

I sighed heavily.

I called Romeo, during lunch break, and told him everything.

That kid's way mature than me.

I told him what troubles me and encouraged me to give it till the end of the day.

I doubt that.

He ended the call shortly after.

After school, I immediately went home.

I can't risk seeing her all day.

She's sad and I know that's because of me.

If I see her like that, I wouldn't give her what she wished for.

Space.

I'd most likely jump her and tackle her in for a hug and kiss her.

I looked at my phone and found that it's drained.

I charged my phone and opened it then took a nap.

I woke up and looked at my wall clock.

8:30pm

Huh.

I finally found sleep.

Couldn't sleep yesterday.

I yawned and headed towards our kitchen then ate dinner.

Alone.

I hate this.

I want to go see her. Now.

I can't.

Not unless, I have her permission.

8:45pm.

I went straight to our entertainment room to occupy my mind with something else.

I watched a movie and ate popcorn.

It's crazy, how one day without Lucy drives me insane.

The movie ended and it didn't help at all ease my mind off of Lucy.

I looked at the watch and found that it's 10:17pm.

I went back to my room and decided to doze off.

My phone blinks for a notification.

My heart skipped a beat.

I flew towards my phone.

The text made me drop my phone.

======

From: My best friend

Natsu, can we talk? I'm at our meadow.

======

The text was made at 8:33pm.

I looked at the watch and its 10:26pm.

I changed my clothes and grabbed my keys then drove towards the park.

Please be there.

Wait for me, please.

Please be there.

I dashed towards the clearing and found my princess crying in the middle of the field.

I ran towards her and wrapped my arms around her from behind, still panting heavily from all the running.

"Natsu..." She says longingly.

It was the most beautiful word that came out of her mouth after a whole day not hearing her voice.

"I'm sorry! It took me so long time to get here." I pled and she kept crying.

"Please don't cry. I'm sorry. Forgive me." I begged her as I tightened my grip on her.

She released herself from my grip.

My heart shattered to gazillion pieces.

She faced me with her tear streaked face and smiled.

"I forgive you." She smiled genuinely.

My heart back flipped and raced rapidly.

I couldn't hold back anymore and I cupped her cheeks then crushed her lips to mine.

She froze for a moment and melts into the kiss.

I felt dragons gone wild on my stomach.

I tilted my head to kiss her senseless.

My lips molded in hers perfectly.

Her lips are too soft.

That sudden spur of the moment thingy was amazing.

Why is it, that I've just had the courage to kiss her today?

She responded my kisses gently, in every way she can.

Damn.

She's a great kisser.

Before I could even deepen our kiss, she immediately broke it and smiled while panting.

"Yup. I certainly like you too." She chuckled.

"Yeah. But, it's not just... like... anymore, Lucy. I love you." I smiled, still breathing heavily.

Her eyes widen and she smiled brilliantly.

"Yeah. That too!" she laughed and kiss my cheek.

"Let's go. It's getting late." She added while smiling.

"Let's go to sleep. I really missed you." I looked at her passionately.

"I missed you too." She said as she quickly tiptoed and placed a peck on my lips, catching me off guard.

"I really love you." I breathe and flashed her a wide toothy grin making her laugh.

"And I, you."
