I'm alone at the house, still in daze at his confession yesterday.

How did I not see this one coming?

Flashback

"Natsu... I could never hate you..." It was all the words I could muster as I continue to sob in his arms.

"Lucy..." he whispered as he held my gaze.

He looked away briefly hesitating, but breath evenly and held my gaze once more.

"I like you." He says as his eyes were filled with honesty and hope.

I turned myself around viewing the garden once more and thought.

My best friend likes me.

Do I like him back?

"I-I'm sorry Natsu... But could you give me some time to think about it?" I asked not looking at him.

"I understand." He stated and left the room.

What am I supposed to do?

This will be very awkward.

I don't want to lose him.

I stopped thinking as I felt my brain about to explode and walked out of his room.

I found Natsu in the living room and asked if he can take me home.

He just nodded and never spoke.

Even once.

He stopped touching me or looking at me.

I feel my heart about to cry out.

He silently dropped me off in front of the house and gave me a faint smile before leaving.

Flashback ends

I can't sleep!

Damn you, Natsu!

We have school tomorrow!

I tried sleeping but all I do was toss and turn.

I'm not used to Natsu not being by my side.

Oh God.

This meant I really have been depending on him too much.

What am I supposed to do?

Do I like him?

I have to ask someone about this.

I stood up and went towards my mother's room.

She opened her table lamp while rubbing her eyes.

"Sweetie? What's wrong? It's past 12 and you have school tomorrow." She asked.

"Mom. I'm not used to Natsu not being here." I opened up.

"Did you two fight?" she asked cautiously.

"No." I simply answered.

"Then, what's wrong?" she pushed.

I sighed heavily and looked at the ground.

"He confessed to me." I answered nervously.

"So?" she asked.

"Excuse me?" I asked, dumbfounded.

"Lucy, I already know that. Ever since the first day, he stepped inside this house." She giggled.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked with fury.
