  "It's not that dire."

Bai pointed towards the distant blood rain.

As they strained their eyes, they realized with horror that the area covered by the blood rain extended far beyond the village!

"After the shaman died, the restrictions on Guang Xiu were completely lifted, and his resentment began to spread. Anywhere he passes, the blood rain will fall!"

"We just need to take another route to the temple on the back mountain."

Liu asked curiously, "But what about searching for the corpse of the monk,?"

"A head alone is of little use!"

  Bai shook her head.

"The body has already been found... Just follow me!"

"The Blood Gate rules won't restrict Guang Xiu for long. We need to hurry!"

Everyone nodded, following Bai along the route Guang Xiu had taken, heading towards the village's back mountain temple!

  They moved quickly.

After all, no one knew how much time the Blood Gate's rule of restricting the malevolent spirit could buy them...

At this moment, Guang Xiu, hidden within the blood rain, loomed over them like a guillotine blade, threatening to fall at any moment!

When they arrived at the foot of the mountain once more, the blood flowing down the stone steps had turned into a small stream!

One wrong step and they would slip.

  "Hurry!"

They stumbled upwards. Reaching the mountainside, Ning glanced down and his heart skipped a beat.

"Guang Xiu is catching up!" he shouted.

As the others turned to look, they saw the dark figure standing at the foot of the mountain, looking up at them with chilling indifference.

Just one glance, and a bone-chilling fear gripped their hearts.

The next moment, the dark figure suddenly appeared on the small platform of the second stone step!

  It had taken mere seconds!

"Don't look, just go!" Bai yelled through gritted teeth, leading them on a scramble up the mountain.

Finally, they arrived at the temple, now almost completely drenched in blood.

"Bai, where's the body?!" Liu shrieked, his eyes wide with terror as he saw Guang Xiu standing at the entrance, blocking their way.

At this moment, however, Bai displayed no fear.

Instead, she seemed to release a breath of relief, a smile gracing her pale face.

"The monk's body... hasn't it been with us all along?"

The three of them were stunned.

Under their astonished gazes, she took the head from her arms... and handed it to the bespectacled man!

"Haven't you been searching for your head?"

"Now, we've found it for you."

The bespectacled man looked down at the head in his hands for a long moment.

A look of clarity slowly filled his lost eyes.

"I remember..." he murmured, a small smile forming on his lips.
