Author's POV

Marona stepped back in fear when Mikhail stepped towards her with a mischievous smirk.
"You really thought that I won't find my most priced possession?"
He asked amused. It didn't take him long to track her after he got the news. she doesn't know that even her shoes have trackers in it.

Still he was impressed that she was smart to escape, she didn't leave any digital footprints behind. He was proud of her smartness but pissed that she chose to run away instead of talking to him.
She didn't even try to understand why he killed Laurence?

Marona wiped her tears with shaky hands.
"How did you find me?"
She sobbed.

"Why did you run away?"
He asked instead.

He stepped ahead and she stepped back.
"You killed Laurence!"

He chuckled, his hands were in his pockets as he looked at her cunningly.
"Are you asking me or telling me?"

She gulped.
"Why are you playing with me like this?... You think it's fun?... You killed my ex husband and manipulated me into marriage. He was your brother... Was your obsession that dark that you had to kill your brother for it?... You mislead me, you trapped me."
She cried.

"Did you even ask me who killed Laurence?"
He questioned.
"I would have told you."

"No, you wouldn't."
She shook her head.
"This is all a trick. You love to play with my mind."
She yelled frustrated.
"I am tired of this."
He looked at her as she started crying harder.
"Mikhail, I am tired of this... I want my life to be peaceful. I want to live like a normal person."

He nodded.
"I am giving you a normal life. Look, I am talking to you like a normal husband. Asking you why you ran away, did I take you to the basement like Leonardo?... Everything was normal, wasn't it? We had just come from our honeymoon but see what you did."

He caged her against the wall and she flinched while looking scared into his eyes.
"No! I am not happy..."
She sobbed. Her face was crimson red.
"I don't want to live like this... I want freedom."
She shuttered while saying that.

He frowned.
"Freedom? Freedom from what?"

She gulped as she trembled to answer.
"F_Freedom from marriage."

She could see his expressions changing visibly. His eyes visibly turned red and her heart skipped a beat. The jaw clenched too hard and the fist curled beside her head which was resting on the wall. Tears escaped freely from her eyes when he scared her even more, she has no idea what he is going to do with her.
"Marriage?"
His voice turned darker and deeper.
She tried to step back even more but it was impossible because she was caged against the wall.

She flinched and closed her eyes when he touched her cheek and caressed it with his thumb.
"I won't say it again. Eyes on me when I am talking to you!"
He said in his deep voice and her eyes flew open.
"You want to leave me?"
He asked as he felt anger rising to his head but he was in control.
She couldn't gather up the courage to say anything because he looked lethal. It was like he was waiting for the yes to give him go ahead to do something crazy.
She sobbed when he rested his forehead on hers.
"I asked you something."
She felt burning on her skin when he caressed her arms.
"Amore?"
She started crying harder when he got closer. Her body was shaking furiously.

He stepped back from her and looked at her.
"Okay!"
She frowned at him when he said that.
"I'll give you freedom."
Marona wasn't ready to believe him.
"The door is open... Run! You want to catch the train, right?... Go, try to catch it but if I catch you before you catch the train then you will remember the punishment you receive after that for the rest of your life."
