53. There is no love!

Author's POV

Marona looked at Mikhail as he tried to keep himself busy in work. He is trying to avoid Mallika's conversation with her.

They tried to talk about it but Mikhail was getting aggresive illusions of Mallika and it was disturbing his mental health so she didn't pressurise him much.
His mental health is her first priority but the time was flying. It was her due date in a few days and she wanted to get rid of illusions before she brings her babies into the world.

"It's time for your medicines... Let's go!"
He closed his files and helped her to stand.

She had her medicines and looked at him.
"Mikhail, I know it's very difficult for you but I wanted to get rid of illusions before our babies come."

Mikhail nodded while tucking her under bedsheets.
"You are right... I have to stop this craziness before that but your due date is near. I can't leave you alone."

"You already know the location, you just have to go there and talk to her... You will be back in one day!"
She insisted.

Mikhail's heart was not agreeing to it but after babies he will get more busy so he nodded.
"Fine! I'll leave in the morning."

Mikhail pulled her closer and caressed her until she fell asleep but he couldn't sleep. There was some restlessness in his heart which he couldn't understand.

He got up from the bed in the morning, Marona was still asleep so he didn't bother her.
He called Jeh and asked him to do the preparations to find Mallika.

He was getting ready in the closet when he heard her voice.
"So you are really trying to find me because your wife wants it?"
He heard Mallika while he was getting ready in the morning.
"I was screaming my lungs out for so many years but you didn't even acknowledge it."

"Shut up!"
He sighed while shaking his head.

"You can't shut me up!"
She said disappointedly.

"You didn't come to meet me. Was it my fault?"
He snapped at her.
"You are fucking my mind day and night!"

"Maybe I couldn't express my feelings but did you even try to stop?"
She sounded sad.
"If I couldn't then you should have come to me. But you are not even aware of your own feelings. Your whole life you have run away from it..."

"I don't need to give you any explanation."
He rubbed his face and tried to stop her but it didn't work.

"Are you even aware of your feelings about Marona... Is she just a tool to get comfort like Devi and I?... You are selfish, you just want your peace of mind and nothing else. You don't care about anyone... You first used Devi for your comfort, then me and now you are using Marona... You are selfish, you can't do anything but use people for your selfishness."
She accused.
"You are using Marona, you don't love her!"
The words rang in his ears.

"Enough!"
He crashed the first thing on the ground on which he got hands.
"Enough of your bullshit!"

Marona woke up due to noise and quickly searched for him.
Her eyes widened when she saw him all furious and lost.
"Mikhail?"
She grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the illusion. He shook his head, bothered.
"What happened?"
She led him out in the bedroom.

"Am I really selfish?"
He looked disturbed.
"I used Devi and Mallika for my comfort... I am doing the same thing with you..."

Marona shook her head sadly.
"No, it's not like that... You never used anyone..."
She cupped his face.
"You are not selfish... It's just your mind manipulating you. You are thinking this for yourself... Why are you so disturbed?"
