Mikhail's POV

"Are you seeing her again?"
Marona asked me while placing her gentle hand on my shoulder.

I shook my head to avoid Devi.
"Yes! Is it going to happen frequently?"
I rubbed my face frustrated.

"Yes, Mikhail! When you tell me about them then you will feel the emotions which are related to them which will result in illusions but that's okay. It's a part of the process!"
She explained while making me sit at the garden breakfast table.

Devi disappeared when I started talking to Marona.
"She is gone!"

Marona nodded and sat in front of me.
"It's because your mind is now focused on me and not the emotions you felt when you recalled Devi... We can continue now!"

I started telling her our first meeting again. It was the day where everything started twisting in chaotic knots.

Flashback...

I tried to climb the wall to see the person who was making the sounds on the other side. If some other small kid would have been there then he would have ran away with fear but being a Mikhail, I felt too curious to see what's there.

My grandma must be aware of my chaotic nature so she had made the walls with such a structure that I couldn't climb it.
Giving up, I sat down on the ground.
"Who's there?"
I asked curiously and heard a small cute gasp in return.

"Who's there?"
The cute voice questioned back.

"Are you a ghost?"
We both asked in unison and laughed.

"No, I am Leo! Who are you?"
I told her my nickname naively instead of my real name.

"My name is Devi!"
She replied and felt like she is also leaning against the wall.
"What are you doing here so late?"

"I wasn't feeling sleepy so came out... What are you doing here, aren't you scared?"
I questioned. Why would any small girl will be out in the dark?

"I was also not feeling sleepy..."
She sounded sad.

"What happened?"
I placed my ears against the wall.

"I am not feeling happy. I don't know why."
She complained.

"Why? Did your father beat you too?"
My father used to so I thought the same about her.

She gasped.
"Does your father beat you?"

"Black and Blue!"
I huffed.
"I am not a good child, he says... Maybe I am not good at all."

"Don't say that. You should never feel inferior just because someone else thinks you are. That's their problem not yours..."
It was a big thing for a small girl to say.
"My mother used to tell me this..."

"How do you know that I am good?"
I was confused.

"Because Mom says that kids are always good... It means you are too... Your father sounds evil."
She must have scrunched her cute nose, it seemed.

We both started bitching about my father and got bonded quickly without even seeing each other's faces.

"Okay, Leo... I have to go now."
It sounded like she was getting up.

"Are you leaving?"
I felt sad because I didn't want her to go.

The child inside me wanted a friend which I found in Devi.

"Are you sad, Leo? You don't sound good when you are sad... Don't be!"
I smiled at her words. It felt good to see that someone can sense your sadness just with words.
