42. Deserves An Explaination!

Author's POV

"They are coming in two weeks"
Marona got up and started walking back and forth.
"And look at my life."

Mikhail leaned back on the bed and rested on his elbows while looking at her.
"What's wrong with your life?"
He asked casually.

"What's wrong with my life?"
She looked at him in disbelief.
"I got married and I didn't tell them... Then my husband got murdered and my second husband turned out to be the one who killed my ex husband... And I am carrying superfecundation babies..."
She mocked.
"And it doesn't stop there, My husband is the most dangerous mafia lord in the country. Now you tell me how to explain this to them?"

Mikhail chuckled.
"Interesting, we should make a movie on your life."

She was on the verge of crying.
"I am serious, Mikhail... I am scared!"

He got up and grabbed her hand to make her sit down on the bed.
"I don't think you owe them any explanation. They never cared about you."

She looked at him sadly.
"Not to them but what about grandma? She will be disheartened..."

"Don't tell her about your first marriage, just tell her that I knocked you up and then you had to get married for the baby."
He suggested.

Her eyes widened.
"Are you crazy, she will make me divorce you. She doesn't believe in compromises."

"Your wish will come true, don't you want that?"
He teased.

She huffed.
"I am serious... Do you have any serious suggestions?... My parents will blame my grandma for my mistakes and I don't want that... They are really heartless. There is no empathy or sympathy in their hearts..."

He noticed how disappointed she is with her own parents and he can understand the feeling.

"And on top of that, I am looking like a broken doll..."
She touched her face sadly.
"The cast will be removed after a month and she is calling me next week."

Mikhail grabbed her phone and called her grandma.
"Tell her that you are out of the country and you will be back in a month."

"What?"
Her eyes widened but before she could argue, her grandma picked up the call.

"Hello, estimada" (Dear)
Her grandma answered the call.

"Grandma, I am sorry but I can't come next week..."
She was guilty.

"Why?"
She sounded sad.

"Actually I had to attend one of the patients so I am out of the country and will be back in a month. I am sorry!"
She explained and Mikhail gave her thumbs up.

"Ohh, but your parents are coming after such a long time."
She replied.

Marona sighed.
"I don't think they care about my absence... They are coming here for a business, not to meet me so I guess it doesn't matter."

"That's also true... Fine, you take your time..."
She assured.
"But come home, it's been a long time since we have met."

"Yes, I am missing you too."
She smiled sadly.

She finished her call while Mikhail handed her the medicine.
"Now take a rest and leave everything else to me."
He smirked.

She frowned at his smirk.
"What are you going to do?"

He winked.
"Surprise!"

Marona couldn't argue because she knows that he won't tell her.

Mikhail went out to meet Rafael as he called him out. When he entered the study, Damon was also present.
"Someone is glowing. Don't you think, Rafael?"
Damon teased Mikhail.
