34. Mysterious House!

Author's POV

Marona woke up with the groan and felt heavy in her head after crying heavily last night. She blinked her eyes and looked around. Mikhail was standing by the window while staring out.

She could see that she has really fucked up this time. Last time he didn't look so mad but this time it was visible on his face and soon it was going to be visible in her life too.
It was really difficult for her to maintain eye contact with him.

She decided to freshen up and tried to get up but then noticed a chain around her ankle which was attached to the bed.
Her eyes widened at it and then snapped towards him.
She couldn't believe that he was really doing this, he had literally tied her to his bed.
"Mikhail?"
She mumbled in disbelief.

Mikhail turned around. He didn't look mischievous or arrogant like usual, he looked blank like he was not thinking about anything.
"You left me no choice, wife!"

She looked at him sadly.
"I promise I won't do it again..."

"Why?"
He frowned.
"Because now you have realised that you can't escape from me."

She looked down in shame.
"Yes!"

He released a deep sigh.
"It means you will try it again once you find the opportunity where I won't be able to find you. Can't take risk."

Marona looked at the chains sadly. This is not how she imagined her life to be.
"How long are you going to chain me like an animal? Is this how my life is going to be?"

Mikhail sat beside her and grabbed her jaw in his strong grip.
"And who made me chain you like an animal?"
He gritted.
"I took you to the event like a queen and what did you do?"

She couldn't say anything knowing that she will trigger him more.

They both heard a knock on the door.
"Leo?"
It was Rosalie.

Marona's eyes widened in horror. She looked at him and to her chains.
"She will see it!"
She panicked.

"Let her! I don't care."
He replied carelessly.

"Mikhail?"
She couldn't understand what was wrong with him. Didn't he say that they need to act like a happy couple?

"Leo?"
Rosalie called again.

"Come in, Grandma!"
He smirked at Marona and she looked at him in disbelief.

The door clicked open and Marona quickly pulled the bedsheets over her, covering her legs.

Rosalie entered and smiled at them.
"Good that you guys are up... Come downstairs for breakfast!"
She noticed Marona who was covered in bedsheets.
"Marona, are you still not feeling well?"

"I am better now... I'll come downstairs."
She smiled back, she doesn't want her to see what's going on between them and then embarrassed herself.

"Good! Come down quickly."
Rosalie sounded excited and walked away.

Mikhail unlocked the chain, got up and walked away behind his grandmother. Marona noticed how he was behaving dryly with her. He didn't try to touch her either.

She got ready, her clothes were kept in the closet. She didn't miss how the room was filled with Mikhail's childhood which is completely opposite from his room in the castle.
The room has his childhood pictures with his brothers and Grandma, he was looking grumpy there too.

The small study table was still there but it had more car & bike toys than books or study material.
His room looked exactly the way how boys room should look.
