Y/n hurries with her bag off of the train while Hermione follows after falling a few steps behind. She looks around, the excitement of seeing her mother had set in. Then she spots her mother Amina a few feet away looking around for her daughter. Y/n turned towards Hermione awkwardly, "Hey I see my mum. I'll see you uh... after the holiday! Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas" Hermione muttered in awkwardness, her gaze averts away from Y/n.
Y/n parted her lips wanting to say more to Hermione, but she quickly bit down on her lip instead stopping herself. She awkwardly turned on her heels and hurried over to where her mother was waiting for her. "Mum!"
Amina looks to her left seeing Y/n rushing over to her. "Oh, there you are sweetheart! Hi honey!" She exclaims, excited to see her daughter. Amina squats down bringing Y/n in for a big momma bear hug, squeezing her tightly.
"Ah mum! If you squeeze me any tighter, I'll pop!" Y/n laughed as her mum lifted her up off the ground for a moment.
"I just missed you so much." Amina said exasperatedly, cupping Y/n's cheeks in her hands and starts planting kisses all over her face. The gesture prompted Y/n to start whining, pushing away from her mother.
"Mum! Come on! There are still other students around." Y/n pouts as Amina lets go over her face and stands up straight again.
"Oh, alright stop your whining." Amina snickers, pinching Y/n's nose affectionately. Amina takes one last look around as Y/n looks up at her confused. Amina's gaze shifts back to her daughters and a small smile forms across her lips. "Let's get you home then. I want to hear all about your first few months at Hogwarts!" She exclaims grabbing Y/n's bag before beginning to push her towards the exit.
As she pushes her daughter through the wall into the muggle train station, Y/n's eyes catch a glimpse of Hermione, who had already departed from Platform 9 3/4, with her parents. Hermione's gaze locks on to Y/n, who awkwardly waves at her while being pushed forward by her mother. A small chuckle escapes Hermione's lips watching Y/n being led away.
"Who was that?" Amina hums looking down at her daughter, a hint of blush forming in Y/n's cheeks at her mother's inquiry.
"What are you talking about?" Y/n murmurs in embarrassment at Amina catching the awkward interaction between her and Hermoine.
"You know what I'm talking about. That girl you just waved too, who was that?" Amina pushes further with her questioning as they continue walking out of the train station.
"I didn't wave at anyone. I think you're going crazy mum." Y/n states with a deadpan tone as they approach the car. Before Amina can respond, Y/n opens the passenger side door and gets into the car, not wanting to talk about Hermione with her mother. Amina puts Y/n's bag into the trunk of their car and then climbs into the driver's seat, starting the car.

"Wow mum you made a lot of food for just the two of us." Y/n raises her brows in surprise by the arrangement of plates laid out around the dining room table. Her eyes widening at the array of food, "We couldn't possibly eat all this."
