"Y/n! I told you to please get up dear!" Amina, Y/n's mother, exclaims walking back into her 11 year old daughter's room for the 3rd time.

"I don't want to go mum." Y/n whines gripping her sheets in her hands and pulling them over her head. "I want to stay here with you." A small defiant huff escaping her lips.

Her mother lets out a small sigh, walking over to her daughter's bed. "I know but you can't." *She grabs a hold of Y/n's sheets and pulls them off of her getting an irritated groan from her. "Your life at Hogwarts begins today! Now we must hurry and get your things in order. So please get up."

Amina places a caring hand on Y/n's shoulder shaking her awake softly. Y/n groans looking up at her mother who now stays standing over her leaving her no choice but to get up. "Ok, fine. I don't see why I have to go to Hogwarts anyways." She mumbles swinging her legs over the edge of her bed and standing up to her feet.

"Because it's a great school and you got a letter! It's where your father and I went when we were your age." Amina explains with a warm smile as she grabs onto Y/n's shoulders and guides her to her closet. "Now quickly, get dressed. We leave in 10 minutes."

But before Y/n could object anymore Amina hurries out of her room. She begins begrudgingly getting changed into normal day clothes. Once she's done that, she finishes getting ready and meets her mother downstairs. "Come along now! You can eat on the way." Her mother says grabbing a hold of her wrist and dragging Y/n out the front door.

Y/n's now sat silently eating a muffin Amina handed her in the car. Silence fills the air as neither one of them breaks the tension. After the long silence, Y/n's voice cuts through. "I don't want to go. Can't you just teach me? I mean you took the classes, you're a wizard."

A small chuckle erupts from Amina's lips as she looks over at Y/n briefly. "Oh, honey I couldn't possibly teach you. The Professors at Hogwarts can teach you far better than I could." She explains to her daughter's dismay.

"But you do understand that the other students won't want to be my friends right!? Why are you going to put me, your only daughter through that? I'll have no friends in all the 7 years I'm there!" Y/n's exclamation, while a little exaggerated, leaves Amina feeling guilty and worried for her daughter.

She sighs reaching over taking Y/n's hand in hers, a comforting smile forming across her lips. "Y/n, you are a beautiful, bright, and sweet girl. You'll have plenty of friends I know it. Once everyone sees you for who you really are... they will be lining up to be my little girls' friends!"

The words bring a smile to Y/n's face as well as a small ray of hope. But that ray of hope is quickly covered by a dark cloud of disbelief at her mother's words. "Thanks mum but... once they hear my last name. They'll be running for the hills." Y/n looks out the window taking her hand out from her mother's grasp. A small sigh can be heard from Amina as she watches the buildings pass by from the car window.
