A few days had passed since the events in the Dark Forest. Hermione had been cold and distant from Y/n ever since. Y/n tried to convince herself that she didn't care about Hermione being so cold towards her, but deep down it bothered her. Meanwhile Harry and Ron occasionally spoke with Y/n here and there. But they no longer filled her in on their antics to do with the Sorcerer's Stone, which didn't bother her too much.

Y/n found herself walking through the courtyard, walking alone engulfed in her thoughts. But a certain platinum haired boy's voice breaks her out of her train of thought. "Y/n!" Draco exclaimed, walking up to her with a pep in his step.

"Piss off Malfoy." Y/n retorted, shooting an intense glare his way.

"What's your problem?" Draco clicked his tongue in irritation by Y/n's attitude. "Wait, you're not seriously still mad about that little trio being pissed at you, are you?"  A smug smirk formed across the boy's expression as he walked along with Y/n.

"They were my friends Malfoy. And you made it look like I betrayed them!" Y/n snapped, trying to quicken her pace to get away from him. But Draco sped up, walking in toe with Y/n again. "Can you leave me alone?"

"Come on. You don't need them as friends!" Draco laughed looking over at Y/n, with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. "We can be friends, you know. I'm a much better choice than Potter, a Weaslebee and a stupid Muggle-Born." He spat, his tone laced with disdain and disgust.

"Shut up Malfoy." Y/n murmured, narrowing her eyes over at Draco.

"What? Don't like me insulting your little friends?" Draco retorted, his words coming out in a taunting tone.

"You're insufferable." Y/n rolled her eyes, trying to brush him off. "What makes you think I'd want to be your friend anyways?"

"Because I'm from an infamous pure blood family. We can make a new alliance, the Malfoys and the Blacks." Draco explained with a proud expression as he looked off ahead of them. He shifted his gaze back to Y/n who stared back at him unimpressed. "What do you say?"

"I'll pass." Y/n snorted, crossing her arms to her chest looking away from the boy. "The only reason you want to be my friend is because my father is in prison for murder." She stated matter of factly, snorting in disgust at the thought of being his friend.

"Aren't you tired of being an outcast? If we were friends, I could make sure nobody treats you like one." Draco remarked, his tone intending to be convincing. But Y/n wasn't sold on it.

"I'd rather stay an outcast than be your friend Malfoy. I don't need the whole school to like me." Y/n murmured looking down at the floor as the two approached the doors leading back into the school.

Draco scoffed, grabbing Y/n by the arm stopping her from going inside. "We both know that's not true, Black. You'll come around, since your little golden trio hates you now." He snickered, the same smug smirk formed across his lips, filling Y/n with anger.
