VII. THE MASTER PLAN
~Lou’s journal~
It was the second suicide in our school and it was equally horrible as the first. I couldn’t believe what I heard because I just saw Maruja staring at me in the gym. Could it also be a doppelganger like what Nastja had seen before her mom died? I feel really creepy just looking at her corpse. But she killed herself by hanging herself in her room. This scene was so eerie familiar. Even her suicide note that says “I can’t handle this anymore.” Was this just a nasty coincidence?
Jessy was crying really hard.
“Jessy had a premonition about her that’s why we barged into her house. We even texted her. But looks like we’re already too late. When we barged into her house, she’s already…” sagot ni Robin na hindi na natapos pa ang gustong sabihin.
“This is so… weird… so unusual,” sabi ko. “Her best friend also committed suicide before her, right?”
Tumango si Anjo. “Oo, ka-jerjer. At sabi pa ni Maruja na ikaw daw ang dahilan ng pagpapakamatay ni Gretchen, dahil naniniwala siyang ikaw ang ka-chat mate nito.”
“But… why would they kill themselves over a chatmate?” tanong ni Fille.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Bakit nga ba?
“And if they really committed suicide, paano naman luluwa ang mga mata nila sa pamamagitan lang ng pagbibigti?” pagpapatuloy ni Fille. “There’s gotta be a good explanation to this.”
Nang muling tawagin na ang mga players for the resumption of the championship game, I called a meeting for the CMG members. Of course, hindi makakasama sina Kei at Anjo dahil maglalaro sila. Sa rooftop ng campus kami nag-meeting.
“I have a suggestion…” panimula ko nang marating na namin ang meeting place. “We need to know the exact messages these victims have received, so we will have an idea what really happened.” Lahat sila ay nakatingin lang sa akin. “We need to hack any of the accounts,” muling sabi ko.
“Oh right,” sabi ni Jessy. “My brother loves to hack other users’ accounts. It annoys me. Kahit ilang beses ako magpalit ng password, naha-hack niya pa rin ang account ko.”
No matter how much I loathe JR for being so full of himself, it looks like I have to admit that we’ll be needing his help.
“We need him…” sabi ko.
“No Lou. Ayokong madamay pa siya rito. Paano kung mapahamak siya?” nag-aalalang sabi ni Jessy.
“He’ll just hack the account, Jess. That’s all. He doesn’t need to know what we are doing,” paliwanag ko.
“That’s settled then,” sabi ni Robin nang hindi na sumagot si Jessy. “Tayo na. Let’s go back to the game. Knowing JR, sa tingin ko kailangan lang nating magcheer sa kanya so we could ask him to hack the account for us.”
They all looked in my direction. “No problem. That would be fine…” Even if that team has two of the people I loathe most. Siyempre sino pa nga ba? Si JR mismo at si Anjo.
