Jungkook's mind raced as he made his way to Taehyung's residence. He had spent days debating whether or not to confront Taehyung with the truth, but there was no avoiding it anymore. The bond between them was undeniable, and the child—Taehyung had the right to know the truth.
As he approached the grand stone building where the leader of the Eunoia clan resided, Jungkook's heart pounded in his chest. The cool evening breeze did little to calm his nerves as he steeled himself for the conversation to come.
When Jungkook arrived at the gates, the guards recognized him immediately and allowed him entry. As the omega made his way through the halls, he couldn't shake the overwhelming sensation of fate pulling him toward Taehyung. Every step felt heavy, as though the very universe was guiding him to his destiny.
He was escorted to Taehyung's private chambers, where the alpha was waiting, seated by the fire. Taehyung's gaze lifted as Jungkook entered, and for a moment, the world seemed to pause. Their eyes met, and the pull between them surged, undeniable and fierce.
"Jungkook," Taehyung said, his voice a low rumble. "I wasn't expecting you."
Jungkook hesitated for a moment, then spoke. "I need to tell you something. It's important."
Taehyung gestured for him to sit, his gaze never leaving Jungkook's face. "What is it?"
Jungkook took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "I've discovered something—something about the bond between us."
Taehyung's brows furrowed in confusion. "The bond?"
Jungkook nodded. "We're fated mates, Taehyung."
The words hung in the air like a storm cloud about to break. Taehyung's eyes widened in shock, his body going still.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke. The weight of the revelation seemed to fill the room, pressing down on them both.
"You're sure?" Taehyung finally asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jungkook nodded. "I performed a ritual to confirm it. There's no doubt—we're fated mates."
Taehyung sat back in his chair, his mind reeling. Everything he had been feeling, the strange pull toward Jungkook, the connection he couldn't explain—it all made sense now. But as relief and understanding washed over him, so did a wave of confusion.
"What about my son?" Taehyung asked, his voice tight with emotion. "Jennie..."
Jungkook swallowed hard. This was the part he had been dreading the most. "There's more," he said quietly. "Your son...he isn't yours, Taehyung."
Taehyung stared at him, his expression unreadable. "What are you talking about?"
"I checked his magical signature," Jungkook explained. "It doesn't match yours. He's not your biological child."
Taehyung's breath caught in his throat. The words hit him like a punch to the gut, leaving him reeling.
"Jennie lied to you," Jungkook continued, his voice gentle but firm. "She tricked you into believing the child was yours."
Taehyung's world spun. Jennie had lied to him? For what purpose? And why hadn't he realized it sooner?
Jungkook reached out, his hand resting gently on Taehyung's. "I'm sorry, Taehyung. I know this is a lot to take in. But I had to tell you the truth."
Taehyung's hand tightened around Jungkook's, his emotions a whirlwind of confusion, anger, and...relief. Because despite everything, the bond between them—the bond he now knew to be real—was a source of comfort.
