Y/N’s Visit to Los Angeles
It had been months since Y/N left the Black Widow set, physically recovered but emotionally battered. The injury had been a wake-up call, forcing her to confront the emotional scars that hadn’t healed since her breakup with Elizabeth. But what loomed heavier than the breakup itself was the unfinished business between them—their shared history, their memories, and Lucky, the dog they’d raised together as a symbol of their love.
Y/N didn’t know if this trip to Los Angeles was about closure or punishment. Perhaps both. What she did know was that it was time to sever the last threads holding her to a life that no longer existed.
The flight to Los Angeles felt eternal. Every passing minute filled her with memories of the life she’d had with Elizabeth. The way they’d built a home together, their late-night talks about dreams and fears, and the simple joys of walking Lucky in the park.
When Y/N arrived at the house, it was as if time had stopped. The door swung open, and there stood Jarine, Elizabeth’s mom, with a warm but bittersweet smile.
“Y/N,” Jarine said softly, pulling her into a hug. “I wasn’t sure you’d come.”
“I wasn’t sure either,” Y/N admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Inside, the house smelled exactly the same—lavender and fresh coffee. The familiarity was a comfort and a curse. Lucky came bounding toward her, tail wagging like a metronome. Y/N knelt, burying her face in his fur, her heart breaking anew.
“He missed you,” Jarine said, watching the scene with a mix of tenderness and sadness.
Y/N stroked Lucky’s fur, tears threatening to spill. “I missed him too.”
They sat in the living room, the silence heavy with unspoken words. Jarine handed Y/N a cup of tea, her eyes searching for the right moment to speak.
“You know why I asked you here,” Jarine began gently, setting her cup down.
Y/N nodded, her throat tight. She did know. She’d known the moment she booked the flight.
“Elizabeth’s been struggling,” Jarine continued. “Her marriage with Robbie… it’s not as perfect as it looks. But you know her. She’s stubborn. She won’t ask for help.”
Y/N clenched her jaw, the words cutting deeper than she expected. “She has Robbie now. Isn’t that enough?”
Jarine sighed. “She has him, yes. But that doesn’t mean she’s okay. And Lucky… he’s a reminder of the good times, the love you both shared. She needs that comfort now, maybe more than you do.”
Y/N’s chest tightened. “And what about me? Don’t I deserve some comfort too?”
Jarine reached out, taking Y/N’s hand. “You do, my love. But holding onto Lucky, holding onto us—it’s keeping you stuck. I know how much you’ve loved Elizabeth, how much you’ve given. But it’s time to let go. Not for her, but for you.”
Tears spilled down Y/N’s cheeks as she pulled a letter from her pocket. “I wrote this for her,” she said, her voice trembling. “It’s a goodbye. For real this time.”
Jarine took the letter, her eyes welling with tears. “I’ll make sure she gets it.”
Y/N knelt beside Lucky, hugging him tightly for the last time. “Be good to her, Lucky,” she whispered. “Take care of her when I can’t.”
As she left the house, Y/N felt a weight lift from her chest, though it left a gaping hole behind. She didn’t look back. She couldn’t.

Later That Night
Y/N sat in her hotel room, staring at the ceiling. Beside her lay a small wedding gift for Elizabeth and Robbie—a simple token of goodwill, a final gesture of the love she would always carry for her.
Her phone buzzed with a podcast interview request, the host eager to delve into her dating life. Y/N let out a bitter laugh, shaking her head. No one knew the truth. No one knew about the nights she spent crying over Elizabeth, or the strength it took to walk away.
She glanced at the letter she’d written:
> Elizabeth,
I’ve loved you in a way I’ll never love anyone again. But love isn’t always enough, and it’s not fair to keep pretending otherwise. I want you to be happy—with Robbie, with Lucky, with the life you’ve chosen. And I need to find my own happiness too.
Take care of Lucky. He’ll always remind me of the best parts of us.
Goodbye, Y/N.As she folded the letter, Y/N felt a strange sense of peace. For the first time in years, she wasn’t holding onto the past.

Flashback: The Good Times
Memories of Elizabeth played like a montage in Y/N’s mind. The night they danced under the stars at Bella Hadid’s party, laughing like children. The way Elizabeth had surprised her on set with Lucky and a homemade lunch, proudly watching as Y/N commanded the camera.
There was the time they’d attended a concert with Bella and Emma Watson, sneaking backstage like rebellious teenagers. Y/N could still feel Elizabeth’s hand in hers, their private jokes making them feel like they existed in their own world.
Those moments were perfect. They were love. But they were also gone.

Moving Forward
As Y/N boarded her flight back to London, she stared out the window, the California sun dipping below the horizon. She didn’t know what the future held, but for the first time, she was ready to find out.
Closure wasn’t about forgetting—it was about accepting. And Y/N was finally learning how to do just that.
