A Few Weeks Later

The weeks that followed were a whirlwind of excitement, planning, and anticipation. Y/N and Dua immersed themselves in research, meeting with doctors, and exploring different options for starting their family. There was so much to consider—fertility treatments, surrogacy, adoption—but through it all, they faced every decision together, grounded in love and optimism.

Dua had always imagined that this process would take time. She had mentally prepared for delays and setbacks, so when she started feeling a little off one morning—mild nausea, persistent fatigue—she brushed it off as exhaustion from work. But a small voice in the back of her mind told her to check.

With Oscar Blue curled up on the bathroom rug beside her, she took a deep breath and reached for a pregnancy test. Her heart pounded as she waited for the result, pacing nervously in front of the sink. The timer felt like an eternity, but when she finally glanced at the test, she froze.

Two lines.

Her breath caught in her throat. “Is this real?” she whispered, staring at the test in disbelief.

Oscar, sensing the shift in her emotions, nudged her leg. Dua crouched down, wrapping her arms around him as tears streamed down her face. “Blue, it worked. We’re going to be a family.”

Her mind immediately went to Y/N. She wanted to make this moment unforgettable. And she had just the perfect idea—with Oscar’s help, of course.

That evening, Y/N returned home from training, exhausted but happy to be back. “Dua?” she called, stepping inside. The house was unusually quiet.

Instead of a verbal response, Oscar trotted toward her with something in his mouth. “Hey, buddy,” Y/N said, bending down. “What’s that?”

Oscar gently dropped a small, rolled-up piece of fabric into her hands. Y/N unrolled it—and her eyes widened. It was a tiny onesie, with the words “Big Brother” printed across the front.

She stared at it, confusion flickering across her face. “Wait… what?”

Before she could piece it together, Dua stepped into view, her expression a mix of excitement and nerves. In her hand, she held the positive pregnancy test, biting her lip as she watched Y/N process everything.

Y/N’s gaze darted between the onesie and Dua, and suddenly, everything clicked. Her heart skipped a beat. “Are you serious?”

Dua nodded, her eyes filling with happy tears. “We’re pregnant, Y/N. It worked.”

For a moment, Y/N was completely still. Then, an incredulous laugh bubbled out of her as tears welled in her own eyes. Without hesitation, she closed the distance between them, sweeping Dua into her arms and spinning her around in sheer joy.

“Yes! Oh my God, yes!” Y/N shouted, her voice filled with overwhelming happiness.

They both laughed and cried, holding each other as the reality of their future settled in. Y/N gently cupped Dua’s face, kissing her deeply before resting their foreheads together.

“We’re going to be parents,” Y/N whispered, emotion thick in her voice.

Dua smiled, her heart nearly bursting with love. “We’re going to be parents.”

Oscar barked excitedly beside them as if he understood the importance of the moment.
